BBM: That's kind of what I said. I heard about a case here several years ago that ended up in a mistrial because some reporter blabbed something that wasn't supposed to be made public. Not all reporters are trustworthy, and they're not usually very experienced, so as a result, our LE and DA's office are pretty strict on what they are allowed to say to the media. That may not be true in AZ, but it is here. I well understand how cases can be compromised by bad reporting, that's not what I was getting at. If someone out there has information that affects the case one way or the other, that person should talk to LE rather than running to the media with it.

Ah yes, I see your point and I agree 100%. Actually that happened a bunch in the OJ Simpson murder trial. One example: there was an eyewitness who saw him in his Bronco at an intersection right near his ex-wife's condo a couple minutes after the murder. He almost ran his vehicle into hers trying to rush a red light. Even though she went to the police with the info, the media paid her for her story and then the prosecution declined to call her as a witness as a result. Huge loss in the case.

If it can't be linked, it can't be discussed. It is considered rumor. And at this point, it appears that the show cannot be linked. If that changes, I will let everyone know.

Thanks,

Salem

For the locals news on the vigil at 9pm & 10. KOLD & KVOA reporting that I've seen. I saw the earlier news with Sergio talking but the interviews are with both RC & SC.

Mass scheduled for 8/27 at St Joseph's for Isabel's birthday according to RC's FB page.
Not terribly newsworthy, but it's better than utter silence?

This event is not listed on the BringIsaHome.com web site:

http://bringisahome.com/upcoming-events/

I mention this because of the snafu with the last event, aka Paper The Streets, when no-one from the volunteer center showed and therein ensued some back-and-forth that one group had failed to notify the other, etc etc.

Of note in the link above (to me): "Tucson News Now has put in a request with TPD to find out how many leads detectives have gone through, how many officers are assigned to the case, where their search efforts are focused and how much this investigation has cost the city.

Matt Mendes will be following the story and have more on KOLD News 13 tonight."

It's up there now... in the News section with an external link.

Balloons. Donuts. Redecorating her room.

I want to punch my fist through a wall.

Where are you, Isa? Why won't they look for you? You should be opening presents and eating cake. :(

Happy Birthday Isabel! Wishing you were home enjoying your birthday-- and the monster(s) responsible for your disappearance were paying the price. Always thinking of you. <3

Just saw the update from TPD. The Chief said there were about 2000 leads so far, it has cost $1mil for the investigation but the saddest part was there are only two detectives on Isa's case full time. Just two. I don't see how he said that with a straight face to be honest. jmo

It should be on KOLD/Tucsonnewsnow website later to watch.

^^ It is beyond sad..I can't believe how fast this case went cold..I wonder will Isa ever be found..

Why are they redecorating her room? I always hear about parents of missing children keeping their child's room exactly how it was when they went missing even after their child has been missing for years.

Praying everyday for you Isabel.

Two detectives on the case tells me at this point they have run most of the leads they can and until or unless they can get a confession from their primary POI or shake loose some new evidence, or find the body, they're in somewhat of a holding pattern. They don't have enough evidence yet to make an arrest. They can't force the family to be interrogated. We see this happen time and time again in these inter-familial crimes. (Irwin, Cummings, McCann, Horman, etc).

True and agree although Putnum Co. Fl kept 5 detective in their small town that had a lot of dispatch calls nightly and drug arrests by the half hour on Haleigh's case for about a year, iirc.

I think they are close and have a lot of evidence but maybe a grand jury wants more. Recently, JM has his address changed on a court record to a FL address & the family is back together supposedly and on the news once each month.

Either Isa is found or the liar holding back information needs to rot for withholding it. Surely, unless incapable of emotions, that would eat a person's soul up eventually. Good. jmo

Oh, I just thought of something else since there's a whole two detectives working on Isa's case it could be the case has been taken over by the FBI. We won't ever know until an arrest. Kidnapping across state lines or to Mexico. It would involve something big though.

I hope they find Isa as she should be home enjoying her birthday. That has to be hard on the them.

Maybe the family redecorating Isa's room is for a special tv exclusive. Maybe a paid exclusive. I really hope they don't do that walk through of the home. Many have sold pictures ect...for money.
