Another question that LE refused to answer in a presser update was the activities of Isa and her family that Friday nite....

I haven't been able to follow this case but I heard the family statement on the news this morning and it just sounded...odd. Formal and detached or something.

KVOA's update on the 4pm press conference.

Police: Search phase winding down; now investigating some 260 leads

http://www.kvoa.com/news/police-search-phase-winding-down-now-investigating-some-260-leads/

eta, I don't see the video of it yet. I want to rewatch for the last comments made by the Chief. Something about tomorrow having more? Missed that part.

It's only been 4 days; I don't like hearing that they're already winding down the searches. Now would be a great time for the family to call in KlaasKids.

Did Isabel normally sleep with her bedroom door closed?

I heard on JVM tonight that Police say the screen on her bedroom window was removed and that may have been the kidnapper’s entry point so if Isabel's bedroom door was closed, the a/c was running, the dogs weren’t in her bedroom, this could be why no one including the dogs didn’t hear anything.

Many people want to know if the mother checked her daughter's bedroom before she left for work and I don't think she did because it would be too risky to abduct a child at dawn. I think Isabel was stolen in the middle of the night when it was dark outside and everyone, including the neighbors and everyones dogs, were fast asleep.

I think if the mother had checked in on her daughter, she would have found her missing and she wouldn't have gone to work. JMO

Prayers for Isabel and her family.

RE: The 4pm presser: Did anyone catch what was said when asked by a reporter if they thought it could be constructive for the family to speak to the media? It was a VERY strange response by the officer, IMO. He did say something to the effect that it was their call, up to them...and the weird part was something about a suspect...as if he started to say something, then stopped and again repeated that it was the family's call. If anyone else caught that, do tel

I did catch the word suspect at that time, too. He had just answered the reporter that he had relayed to the family the media's interest in speaking to the family. I did not catch what he said, but I hear the word "suspect" too.

They would do that anyway. They will ask them who their friends are and what type of work they do and their habits and Isa's habits .......like did she play outside often... where did the family go for fun and play..did anyone in the neighborhood take up special time with her...etc.

They are trying to get a feel of what this predator's profile is and the family can give them valuable information that would assist them.

At this time I have nothing to rule the parents in as possible suspects. Imo, this is going to be one of those cases where LE will not come out and rule anyone out publically until an arrest is made. Just like they didnt in the Greone case or the Lunsford case and quite a few more even though the parents were as innocent as the day is long.

IMO

Agreed!!!!

Thank you so much for these. Bumping in case anyone missed them. The first one has some important info. The reporter states that a police officer was questioning a child (you can see it happening in the video) who played with Isabel the day before she went missing.

Also, there is an interview, very short, with what appears to be Isabel's two brothers. The little guy is crying. The older one appears to be talking about remembering her playing at a party the day before and she was "just perfect", having fun with everyone else.

Well gee, now I'm even more scared for her. I'm sure everyone knows what I'm thinking.

Has anyone seen a photo of Isa's father (I have not)...he doesn't seem to be on FB (when looking at Mom's)?

I just don't get the vibe from dad. Don't know why, we haven't heard from him, but my instinct is it's not the nuclear family.

I'm very new here, I'm not familiar with this - I'm speechless. Oh my gosh.

This is my first post in this case but I have been following from the beginning. Not that it matters but I think Dad might be a little older than the Mum, unless I have the wrong guy - so maybe he doesn't have facebook or other online activities.

Hope this wee one is found safe soon :please:
The hotel straight across Craycroft is a Marriott, its hardly a slum. Now the apartments next to the church are kind of sketchy, but the ones along Williams Blvd are gated and fairly pricey. This is not a tough part of town, I grew up in this area and it really hasn't changed that much. I played in that same park I am sure Isabel played in...its called Wilshire Heights...

Not saying that a perp couldn't have stalked her, obviously something happened. But if it happened here, it could happen dang near anywhere in Tucson and in quite a few other places in the USA...

Big :fireworks::welcome::fireworks:to all our new friends!!!

I think I'm finally beginning to understand the earlier comment from LE that they are considering giving the family protection. Ditto that they were in an undisclosed location for a couple days...and that they are free to return to the home "when they are ready".

Please elaborate!

On the last thread someone brought up illegals....the real possiblilty is that AZ is second in the world for kidnappings! It is possible wrong house, wrong kid!

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=6848672&page=1

The cartels usually kidnap people involved in the drug trade or people with money. It is very, very rare for them to kidnap a child. Only one case I have ever heard about taking place in the U.S. and in that case, the child was kidnapped in retribution for a drug payment they felt grandpa owed. The boy was dropped off safely at a bus stop. I think that was an AZ case too.

So unless this family has drug connections (which I really, highly doubt), I don't think the kind of kidnapping referenced in the article has anything to do with this.

Justin Mastromarino, the spokesperson, is (I ASSUME) the brother of Becky, Isa's mom. It is the Celis senior family (Sergio's parents) who live on the same street. It would be odd, imo, if he lived with his sister's in-laws. (Although it wouldn't be the oddest thing I ever heard.)

Based on looks alone, I am assuming he may be a non-blood related uncle, maybe married to a sister or brother of one of the parents. He is as blond and freckly as can be and the parents are more tan Hispanics.

However, I realize there is a lot of variation in any ethnic group. People don't realize that there are tons of very Caucasian Mexicans, with red hair and freckles, etc. Lots of Irish, French and German immigrants way back when.

It just bothers me when we don't know when outsiders last saw the child...same with Lisa, same with Ayla...JMO

Apparently, we may know. Read above!!!!

Nancy Grace covering Isabel's case now.

Some of the windows at the Celis' are rather low to the ground as in the back, and some are up much higher. The windows in the garage are high up, the windows on the back of the side where the garage is, seem to be lower and the windows in the back of the house, of which, could be the main part of the house are very low.

If an intruder went through the windows on the back side after the garage ends, he would have be jump up to grab the ledge of the window and then hoist themself up in order to get in. Perhaps leaving marks on the side of the building.

Another question that LE refused to answer in a presser update was the activities of Isa and her family that Friday nite....

I wish we would hear more details too. It's so frustrating. I'll just choose to believe the authorities have good reason for keeping such tight lips. "Isabel Celis is highest-profile case for national missing child center" It's fantastic PC Villasenor is giving these very frequent updates, but it's hard to listen to him and not hear anything new. With Isabel being such a high profile case, and all the different agencies contributing, you know they are watching each word they say so it won't be misconstrued. If they answer one little question like what time she got home from school, it only opens the gate for more and more. I just don't think that should be LE's priority at the moment.

And I'm as nosy as they come! LOL

Nancy Grace is showing a bunch of new pictures of Isabel...makes me tear up a little. She is too cute. I just keep praying she is ok. :(

Nancy showing windows of the garage. She needs to go beyond the garage and show the windows in the back and then go towards to the middle of the house and show those windows.

speaking of the screen beside the window...that was helicopter footage when Isabel was first missing but i might be wrong

Nancy Grace is reporting that the family is NOT going back home.

In fairness, if my child was missing, I would be so distraught that any message I would give to the press would be incoherent, disjointed, overly emotional and long winded. If my husband were to write a statement, it would be terse and to the point. Unless they have a media team assisting them in "crafting a message", I'm sure anything they say (or don't say) is going to be picked apart.

I don't know why, but I'm not really all that bothered by whether the dogs barked or not. From the news conferences I've seen already though, TPD is not confirming if the dogs barked, if any of the neighbors heard them barking, etc...

I will say that I have a rat terrier. She's a good dog and during the daytime, she's a "busybody". She's ruined two sets of my blinds barking at people and other dogs walking by. At night, however she sleeps in our bedroom. She sleeps like a rock. If I have to move her, it's like moving a sack of potatoes....lol.

BBM. So cute!!! Naughty little thing gets tired out creating a ruckus all day!

I'm not bothered by no barking either. Honestly, mine sound like yours. They bark their buns off with passerbys, but when people come in, they just wiggle, kidney bean, wag and try to convince the visitor to play fetch...

BBM. Even cuter! That is an adorable description. I knew what you were describing the minute I read it! One of my brothers and I call it the c-shaped clamp. But I think I'm going to have to use kidney bean from now on!

I haven't been able to follow this case but I heard the family statement on the news this morning and it just sounded...odd. Formal and detached or something.

It sounded that way to me too. I agree. But, I think they may be trying to be very careful, with advanced advice from the FBI, in what they put out there. If I'm right, once the behavioral analysts come in, we may see more statements from the parents, differently worded, even maybe a presser.

But, it's so much worse when the pressers stop altogether. (Sky, Baby Lisa, etc., etc.).

I find in the statement from the family "we will NEVER give up on finding her" odd it's been 4 days....I would have thought the statement would read "we will NOT give up" Never sounds like a word you would use way down the road not so early on. I know 4 days probably feels like forever for them but that statement does not sit right with me JMO I could just be splitting hairs
