When my oldest daughter was five and six, she slept so soundly that I took her took her to the potty every night before I went to bed. I would guide her to the bathroom put her on the pot and say "Go TT honey" and she would. One night I was sick so I had my husband do it. He scooped her out of the bed and said "Let's go TT baby" and she did, ALL over him. He never did that again. She never even woke up.

Great story. How old is she now?

Who is this man speaking with Vinnie?

I still can't shake the idea that this child was taken by someone who had an eye on her, was known to both her and her family, no matter how peripherally.

I also remain stuck with my initial reaction that the perp is a young male, teen or just past teens. I really hate when my impression about a case comes so quickly and immediately and then can't be shaken. Even when whatever caused me to arrive at that impression is so amorphous as to nearly nonexistent.

I always worry that I am seeing more than is there or not seeing what I should be once that impression has settled in for me. Am I missing things because they don't fit my notion? Am I reading too much into things elsewhere because they tend to lend credence to my notion? Sigh.

Who is this man speaking with Vinnie?

Gil Abeyta. His son was abducted 25 yrs ago. I think he contacted Lisa Irwin's parents last year but they rebuffed his offer. I didn't follow that case 100% though.

He was accused of killing his son about 25 years ago. He was never arrested but LE and the public thought he did it. They have never found his son and now he is an advocate for missing children and their families.

He is wrong about some of the things he says though......

I thought some of what he was saying was "off". So sad.

thank you Gitana for linking the video. I was able to view it (sound quality was better than the live link I was using)

Heart breaking. I don't get a sense that these parents are anything more than shellshocked, frightened, worried parents.

Who really knows, but I see the perp as being older. Maybe in his early 30s to late 40s.

He may know the family and have reason to be around them.......like from the ball park.

He may have no criminal history but has abused other family members and they just never told anyone.

Just my speculation though.

I agree that it is someone familiar to the family tlcox. I couldn't help but wonder, as the parents were speaking with their LL friends/family members standing behind them, if they've noticed that someone who they'd expect to be there supporting them isn't there and has seemed to be avoiding them since Isabel's disappearance.

I can see why they havent spoken out before now. I think it took them this long to even be able to stand up there and speak where people can understand them.

I see a family that has gone through hell on earth these last several days.

imo

Do we know if the parents are immigrants? If so, what country? I know they're hispanic but just curious from where.

This case is another heartbreaking one. Why harm our children? They're so innocent. Please let her come home. :tears:

One of Gil's children is a member here and offered their own personal insights into how devastating the disappearance of the baby and the accusations and unflattering press coverage that followed was to the family. I was very appreciative that that WS member was able to share such a personally devastating story with those of us following Lisa Irwin's case.

After seeing that very emotional family statement and assuming that the BAU gave suggestions based on a perp profile; what do you sleuths think the perp profile is?

I know it's fairytale-ish, but based on recent cases of women who stole children to parent (Verna McCain, Krystle Tanner),as well as wishful thinking, I wonder if that statement wasn't intended to soften the heart of the person who has Isa.

ughhh i know, i know Im sounding critical and didnt want to be that way at all. But who were the women cutting up and laughing with Isabel T-shirts before the presser began? Was one of them mom? I didnt feel the same intense emotion with her like I did dad. I know though Dad was the one who found her missing, but to me it seemed different. Im a mom and maybe I am juding too much so if so please just put me in my place. Im going to have to rewatch that and see if I get the same feeling. :(

None of he people milling around were Mom, as far as I could tell.

Have you ever been at a search command center? You have to laugh, you have to crack jokes, and sometimes, humor even the dark kind, is the only reason that you don't have 50 trained professionals sobbing, holding each other up, and generally being useless in their goal to find the child. I've laughed at many a search center, so have lots of others. That means nothing to me except that at least there are people trying to bring some light to the dark.

What was off?

I was listening very closely and he seemed like a wounded father who is telling the kidnapper they will do anything to get Isa back.
