I thought that the family WAS going back to the house ? And that they requested police protection ? JMO

Any locals : much gang activity around this area ?

No, they have not said they are going home. They finally went back and got some small items such as toothbrushes and the daddy's wallet.

I think they want it protected because some looky-loos could break into the home just being nosy or nosy reporters could come on the property when they arent supposed to be there.

I dont think it has a thing to do with gangs.

The police said they would go by the home from time to time to keep check on things.

See that is one of the things that infuriates me with Nancy. Why does she show the da*n garage windows which are always smaller windows?:banghead:

Its like she uses these props to make the case more sensational rather than just showing a close up of the bedroom windows. I agree..........the rest look like standard windows.

And I know an adult can get through them easily because I locked my house and car keys in the house ONE time and I had to get our neighbor to crawl through a window to get inside. He had no problem and he is about 6' and weighs around 190.:floorlaugh: I made sure that never happened again and it was just a stroke of luck that I had raised the window to tilt it out to clean it two days before and left it unlocked by mistake.:) Whew!

imo

Because NG likes to stir 'it' up! Often infuriates me!

There ya go, Nancy mentions the public is looking for the family to make a plea AND it was done already and she showed the family press conference at the top of the show. TAPED SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is PATHETIC!!!!!

Mark Lunsford is one of the most level-headed people they talk to on these shows.

Parents are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Until I see solid proof of anyone's involvement I'm not going to base anything just on how parents act during a presser. too much emotion, lack of emotion, too monotone, too peppy, too many tears, not enough tears, looking down, looking up....good grief they can't win either way! There is no one right way to act during this situation....cut them some slack (and ignore Nancy Grace) until there is solid evidence pointing to someone. Too many have been here long enough to let our objectivity get jaded with the number of times this has happened and its turned out to be the parents.
I'm sure LE is already raking them over the coals and making sure the stories are straight or not. Until we hear further, they are still victims. Sleuthable sure, but objectivity has to be maintained.

It's everywhere.....but this area isn't a hotbed of it.

Unfortunately I don't think that will happen in this case because I doubt Isabel had her own cell phone and I don't think the kidnapper walked around their house searching for a cell phone.

Obviously I know what the differences are in the two cases. I was speaking more to the "high profile" aspect of the case and the cahones the guy had in even risking a ransom demand. Sorry if I did not make that clear in my post, I frequently do the typing equivalent of mumbling when I post here.

I dont think its a big deal that Isas mom didnt check on her before leaving for work especially when another parent is home. I would be concerned that I might wake them. I think "most" people think they are safe in their home therefore they wouldnt check either. In this case ...it may or may not have made a difference except in the timeline.

Im sure that some of you will disagree but as a working mom this is my opinion.

I have always checked on my kids before going anywhere! When they were younger, I always kissed them and told them I loved them whether or not they were asleep. Not because I thought something might happen to them necessarily, but because I have always been afraid that something would happen to me (i.e. a car accident) and I want the last thing they remember of me was me telling them I loved them. Maybe I am crazy?

I don't think you're crazy. I just think, especially as kids get older, people take for granted that the other parent is there and everything is just fine. When my kids were really young, I checked on them like crazy. Now they are 9 and 11, so I guess I feel like they don't need to be checked on as much as long as I say goodnight to them and give them their hugs/kisses.

:shakehead: That is all I can do is :shakehead:

Now I have to add something to my video to clear up this reporting MESS!

Well, I have people from all around the world that look forward to information on missing children on my YouTube channel.

At some point, I will stop when there is no more information that is new.

Thank you for thinking of me. :blowkiss:

I am one of those who watch your You Tube Video's and thank you for all the effort you put into them.

*sigh*..I know this isn't a "bash Nancy Grace" thread, but I seriously can't stand her. I like to think I have an incredible amount of patience and understanding for people, but she just pushes me over the edge.

When something happened days ago, it is no longer considered breaking news.
Whyyyy is she talking about the parents needing to make a plea? They already did that.

Breaking News: Fliers are being posted! WTH!!!

I think Nancy Grace is crazy and obnoxious, sure, but she does make sure these cases get press coverage and that is important.

The show was taped this morning, as she was taking questions for the show...

Well lets think about this, if the mom had checked on her one of two things would have happened...the mom would have seen her missing or the time she went missing would be more like between 6-8 or whenever the mom looked in and seen her there to when the dad went in at 8. and she was gone

It happens just about everytime. Nancy and her crew has to find something to blame the mother about.

Why would she check on her sleeping children? Their father was right there and I am sure he kept them on Saturdays when she worked for years and was capable of getting them up for breakfast.

Breaking News: My 50 lb girl is beating the daylights out of her 110 lb brother, and the dog is acting like the house is a racetrack :please::floorlaugh:

LE has already stated they are following the book in this case and getting search warrants. (Watching Nancy's Show)

  • #379
The fact that police are ensuring they have a warrant when they conduct searches of the house says something.

If it were my child, I'd let them search my house and anything else they wanted any time day or night.

The warrant says either the parents are not too cooperative or they think they are going to find something that could be potentially used in a trial later on and they want to be sure it is admissible. Also, warrants usually state what investigators are able to retrieve from the home and what they are specifically searching for.

Then, IMO, she shouldn't have shown the family press conference at the beginning of the show and then talk about why the family is NOT making a public statement.

It screws up my brain cells ....
