I'm sure the game of Hide and Seek was Rector's idea. He needed someway to get the girls separated without raising suspicion. Just because the girls were in bed when the mother left, doesn't mean they were asleep. He came up with the idea knowing that Mom would be gone for a couple of hours, that was his window of opportunity. Send one of the girls off to hide, then grab the other one. Who knows how long the older sister hid before she realized something was wrong, long enough for him to be well down the street no doubt. The older sister didn't do anything about it until her Mom returned. She probably really didn't know what to do, actually.

That's what my thoughts were when I read about them playing hide and seek.

A police report released today by the Bullhead City Police Department said several adults were at the residence Monday evening and decided to go to Walmart at about 11 p.m. They left two children with their grandmother, Freddie Nicholson and Rector, who was downstairs. The report said the grandmother was upstairs and two children were playing hide-and-seek downstairs. When one girl went to the bathroom and came back out, the other child and Rector were missing.

A search of the house turned up nothing and the adults were called. They returned home and could not find Isabella or Rector. They called police.

Were they all at the same Walmart that Rector stole clothes from? Wonder if their times overlapped. How ironic.

I was reading posts from 6pm until current and realized I was holding my breath and had to breathe deep. This was a bad day around here and I am mentally exhausted. This is so disturbing to read and it gets worse.
My mother had an 8 hour dementia scream fest today and spit her sedatives out, so I finally got home and turned on Nancy to see if she had anything new. She is extra wild tonight so I had to change the channel to stop that madness.
These poor children! Hurts my heart.

The last person Isabella Grogan-Cannella saw wasn't a person. It was a monster. And too often in our business, we are left to deal with the aftermath of monsters.

I still have questions about what happened in that house, why kids were left with a convicted criminal and why the one man who disappeared with Isabella was never mentioned as a suspect or person of interest before today. The sheriff's office says it hasn't ruled out more charges for Rector or anyone else. The autopsy isn't done yet and there's no cause of death.

But that won't change what happened to Isabella. It won't change the cross stuck in the ground that says "God bless you little one." It won't change the dirt road with the tire tracks of the coroner's van or the seemingly endless parade of people who come to see this spot. Isabella is still dead. And for those who loved her, no matter what comes next, this patch of desert will never change.

I hope all of the adults in that house get locked up. Wonder what it would feel like getting "dry" in jail, especially after a few weeks? Would it make a difference, would they feel remorse? Sorry, my mind is going all over the place and I need to rant. The entire situation is inexcusable.

I think he has a penchant for little children. His fb timeline is practically all photos of random children. He disgusts me.

The many pics of children on his FB really stood out to me immediately, too...

so many... Not even just his own.... (I didn't know he was a dad at first...)...

was a red flag... IMO...

Now why would anyone need to go to Walmart at 11:00 pm, especially in a group? What was so important it couldn't wait until the morning? That late at night seems ridiculous to me. Didn't the kids have to go to school in the morning? I wonder if it was an excuse to just get out of the house. Not that it matters now but still...idk just wondering...

Oh, and who is this Nicholson person? Is that the gmom? Were they still there when Rector took off with Bella? Could she have been sleeping maybe?

Sorry about your Mom, hugs of understanding. Maybe you should step away from WS for a bit.
Being out in nature has a way of grounding the soul, is there any beautiful fall foliage in your neck of the woods yet?

I don't think so.

Seriously if everyone in the house knew who had her I really hope they told the police and weren't trying to cover for this guy!

OMG! Your comment just hit me. Why were no statements released early on about Bella being in the company of JR? It makes no sense that police would keep that information from the public while they searched for Bella. Even if the sister didn't say anything immediately the grandmother was there when he took Bella.

Even more curious, Bella's mom posted on FB on September 2 where she wrote "Please help me find my daughter." Not one word about a family friend taking her. She also posted numerous links to news stories about Bella being missing, including one that stated:

The residents there reported that 8-year-old Isabella Neveah Grogan-Cannella was not in her bed or anywhere in the residence.

But the family knew she was with JR.

Either LE knew from the get go (based on information given to them by family) that JR had her and had some sort of game plan in action or the family didn't disclose the whole story to them. I just can't figure out what LE would accomplish by asking for tips from the public while at the same time not releasing a description of a POI she was last seen with.

My bet (and hope) is that LE was given the information about Rector but didn't want him to know they had the information. They wanted him to be unaware. This is my hope, at least.

Jmo LE would have used the info in an Amber Alert...that is what they are for, if they have a vehicle or a suspect description or both. No way would they omit this info, Imo.

Have you ever been to Walmart late at night?
I have....It's SCARY the number of exhausted dirty little kids being dragged through the isles!

Yeah, the only thing that makes sense, assuming the family was forthcoming, is that LE was trying to smoke him out. If so I'd like to know how they got everyone at that residence to go along with it. That's some tight control...

Darn, I wish we had the court documents. I wonder if they'll be published online.
