My head hurts, my heart hurts. Poor Bella. :(

In the court records I also see two charges for contributing to delinquency of a minor. Wish we could access the documents.

That 911 call made my skin crawl. He even got her name wrong! The operator asked if she was Isabel or Isabella and he says Isabel, then pauses a second or two and says oh it is Isabella, but we call her Bella. Wth.

This is also confusing to me. He was released from custody and the older sister told her mother that he was with Bella when they were playing "hide and seek" so why didn't she ask him then where Bella was and then there is also a text that was supposedly sent from him to her.......What?
It's possible he *told* the older daughter they were playing hide and seek as a way to get her out of the way for him to take Bella...

I wouldn't be surprised given the accounts of how many people were there, that the adults were engaged in either drinking, drug use or both, when a dispute arose over money to pay for the 'partying' - Some of the adults went to get money or more party favours and JJR got impatient and decided to use Bella to speed up the process. I don't buy the "went to Walmart" story at that time of night. Especially with that crowd. Sadly, I have covered too many tragedies that started out as get-togethers.

The "let's play hide and seek" is a sadly familiar phrase for me. The man that tried to rape me when I was 8 used exactly that phrase to get me away from my little 4 y/o cousin. This is horrible. That poor angel, afraid and alone.

Can't get the media to open on my phone....

(Dispatch)
(caller)

911, whats your emergency?
Yeah My daughters missing
Okay, how long ago did you see her?
Okay, about an hour, hour and a half ago we went to Walmart, me and my wife and then (unintelligible) her sister called us on the phone saying she couldn't find her sister so
Alright, give me your address
(address redacted)
What's your last name?
My last name is (redacted) but the babies name is Grogan-Cannella
And what is, how old is the missing person?
She is eight years old
And does she live there with you?
Yes
So you had her with you at Walmart and then she disappeared?
No, no, no, no She stayed at home with her sister and her mom getting ready for bed. Her sister and my mom getting ready for bed and when we got back she was already gone
You left and hour ago?
About an hour, hour and a half
And she was there at the lakeside house?
Yeah
Okay, and where was she when you last saw her?
She was getting ready for bed in the living room. Thats the last place I seen her
And so then thats when you left and went to Walmart?

I haven't the slightest clue. We have a giant park across the street from us and the soccer fields and all that. And there is a whole bunch of river access and stuff like that.
Okay, does she ever go down to the river?
She usually doesn't leave by herself, thats why its a little odd
Okay

Alright, thank you, bye bye

Thanks for the call transcript. Indeed, stepfather conveniently leaves out any mention of his violent felon friend being 'in charge' or the girls. I also saw on the court records that Tania filed for divorce in 2007. Do we know where the biological father is?

Ok, someone holds up well under pressure! No way, no how would my voice be that calm. And he was asked what the 10yr old sister had to say, and he did NOT mention anything about JR AT ALL!!!! I'm pissed. :gaah:

Lying liars like to lie!!

Officer, I would like two pair of handcuffs please. I want to make a citizen's arrest please. I've heard enough evidence to at least get a charge for impending an investigation, lying to a police officer, making a false report. That should hold them until you get the rest of the evidence. :jail::jail:

JMOOOOO

Yes. Thank you . So am I mistaken ? Or does it say nothing about being a dealer ?

She has been charged with a bunch of things: drug paraphernalia possession (possession, not intent to sell), several for contributing to delinquency of minors, one for letting a minor drive a car, one for speeding, shoplifting, assault with intent to injure. So no, it does not say she was dealing. She is not a model citizen, but she has not been charged with dealing.

Something else missing is any sense of urgency in his voice.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone at all. But that 911 call sounds like a stoner calling to order Pizza. Frantic? I don't hear nothing frantic

Thanks for transcribing that!

I found a few things that really stand out:

He initially said Bella was home with her sister *and mom* getting ready for bed.

She was getting ready for bed *in the living room*.

Why would you still be *checking around the house* when you called 911 - Wouldn't it be more practical to say that you have checked the whole house, can't find her and THAT is why you are calling the police?

Why bring up *the river access* when asked where she might go? Even the 911 operator picked up on that and followed-up with the question, "Okay, does she ever go down to the river?"

Yes!

"Frantic stepdad begs authorities to help find the missing little girl"

Really?, frantic, begs? wut wut now?

  • #118
I just can't put all of this together. However, the mother thinks she is going to go to the jail and visit the murderer and he is going to tell her everything? She "wants him to know why he did this." Odd.

  • #119
Well, they didn't only live in Bullhead. Not sure how we could check the other states though. Well, I guess we can't until they are arrested. Patience isn't a virtue of mine.

Her father lives in Idaho. Search for his last name in Idaho on FB and you will see his charming FB profiles. Bella also had 2 sisters, maybe 3 IMO. One appears to be a half sister on dad's side. All 3 have the father's last name.

I thought I heard that she had a younger sister as well but I dunno for sure.

I find three different men with that last name, two who share the first name but are different guys.
