GUILTY AZ - Jamie Laiaddee, 32, Chandler, 18 March 2010 *R. Valentini guilty*

I was looking through some of the more dormant cases and I was surprised that this thread went cold.

I could not find anything in the news but looking up the boyfriend's name in the Maricopa Court system, there were two matches. the system does not detail the nature of the charges, but this one goes back a few years and clearly involves the missing woman:

Thank you krista for updating us on Jamie's case. Me too, I hope the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 tells what he did to her and where Jaimie can be found, her family deserves that. So very sad for the families of loved ones of the missing.

I watched a Disappeared episode last night. A mother who lived in Alaska was trying to find her daughter who vanished without a trace in San Bernadino County (CA). Initially, LE would not help her. Finally a SBC Detective got the Alaska State Patrol to file a MP report. However, the person who input her name and case details into NCIC goofed up the date she went missing.

Long story short, the Mom, for over a year spent untold hours on the computer searching the DOE NETWORK. She kept going back to one picture, but the missing date did not match her daughters. Finally she worked up the courage to call the Coroners office. She sent in her daughter's dental records and it was a match. If not for her perseverance, because of the mismatched dates, her daughter's body would have remained unidentified.

Sorry for the OT, but thinking of Jaimie's family and what they are suffering, reminded me of the Samantha Bonnell case. Hearing the families speak really just breaks your heart. If you have a chance watch the story ...

Sad that he is not telling police where Jaime can be found.

UPDATE 5/28/11: We have been contacted again by Jamie's family and are actively working on Jamie's case again. Mike Melson is currently working with Chandler PD to review existing phone records. The hope is that there may be something that can help us determine any search areas that we believe we might be able to clear.

Thanks for the update on Jamie that grabbed my attention to this case for the first time. Jamie was surely a very intelligent young woman if she went to school at the University of Michigan from out of state. Reading the letter penned by her 6 roomates from her college days impressed me with their love and concern for their friend. What a heartbreak to hear the person closest to her in Arizona is responsible for her death yet will not disclose where she is. Sadly there seems to be no limit to man's inhumanity to man.

This really hurts to read ...

On March 17, 2010, the last day Laiaddee was seen alive, she told a lawyer friend that she was afraid of her boyfriend and that police wouldn't be able to help, the report says.

"I don't think they could protect me from him," she wrote in an e-mail, according to the police report.

I have never been in the position of Jami's lawyer friend. But I would hope that if I were, I could convince my friend to leave and seek help. Not implying that person did nothing, just saying if you have a friend or family member who is experiencing DV, never underestimate or downplay the danger they are in.

Attorney: Body not needed to prove Chandler woman's death

Rick Valentini had a burning question when first jailed in the sudden disappearance of his girlfriend of three years, Jamie Laiaddee, a prosecutor said Thursday.

"Do you think they can charge me with murder if they can't find the body?" Valentini, 42, asked a fellow jail inmate, according to Maricopa County deputy prosecutor Juan Martinez.

Speaking during opening arguments of Valentini's murder trial, Martinez said that even without Laiaddee's body, the lack of any trace of her in any aspect, place or capacity, the absence of e-mails, credit-card use, phone calls or cash withdrawal, as good as show she is dead. "She just vanished on March 17, 2010," Martinez said.

One of Jamie's college roommates that is listed in this letter, is a vendor for a company my work uses. (a girl from one of the other sites in my company told her that I am interested in missing persons, so she brought it up to me to me today while here visiting)

This "Brian Stewart" is a crazy nut. The poor girl sounds like she was used for her money and when she was catching on to his motive and maybe even his real name and past life, he killed her. I am glad they were able to convict him even though her body was never found. Hopefully they will be able to find her body so her family and friends can have a proper burial for her.

The boyfriend told an inmate that no one will ever find her and that he fed her body to pigs.... What kind of person would do that? (he probably saw that Criminal Minds episode I am guessing)

Found Jamie's story on a link at CBS News. Apparently, it was just on 48 Hours. So sorry for her death. I hope somehow they find her or her killer confesses full details and location for her family's sake.

What Happened to Jamie Laiaddee?

It was a great episode. I saw shades of Jodi Arias in Bryan/Rick. So sorry for Jamie and all who knew her.

I just watched the 48 hours episode about Jamie last night. So sad for her family and friends. What a monster this guy was. Watching him I could see the lies pouring out of him.

I agree the lying with bravado is much like Arias.

I wish they could find her and put her to rest. Put her family at ease.
