That the rumor that Jhessye was sold might just be spot on IMO.

Wow. I don't know what to think. I wondered about something like that early on, a la Shaniya... :( ... but I didn't think that Jhessye would still be alive if that were the case. If she *is* alive, then may God hold her, comfort her, and protect her.

“That's four and a half years of emotional investment she had in her,” said Johnson. “ want them to look into people that may have been distraught by the baby being taken back by the mom.

Speaking of "emotional investment" or rather lack of ...

Accusing the cousin reminds me of the comment SJ made about the "500 registered sex offenders" that live in the neighborhood.

Surely Ms. Johnson understands that looking at RSO's as well as the cousin's, were among the first things LE checked out?

I can only hope and pray that the cousin who cared for her and loved her for the first 5 years of her life is the one who has her right now. :rose: Sadly, I don't think she does.

Bumping for Jhessye

I know... don't know which would be worse. I can't imagine the torture she's enduring if still alive. If passed, her torture is over. Heartbreaking either way. Makes me cry to think about.

It has always been my sincerest hope that Jhessye was taken by a loved one and is being cared for. I mean, why her? Why not any of the others? Supposedly, they were all playing outside, and yet Jhessye is the one who disappeared. I am hoping beyond hope that Jerice is innocent and that she has been taken away by someone who loved her so dearly and didn't want her living with Jerice. At least then, she would be alive and well. God, I pray that is the case. I hope LE is making headway.

"The investigation was done on Jahessye was inadequate," Shirley Johnson said on Friday. "It was substandard, it was not done right at the beginning. The first two days they stopped looking for her."

Johnson also wanted to relay a message to the person she believes kidnapped Shockley.

"I want to say to whoever took Jahessye, I know you probably think you got too deep and you can't turn this around," she said. "You can turn this around. You can take Jahessye and just leave her at a public place.

Every time I see Jhessye's case with a new post, I hope there has been a break. I'm so disappointed that the case doesn't appear to have progressed much. Perhaps LE is busier behind the scenes...

I wish they would stop spewing stuff out like that. It's in effort to sway the public into thinking...LE isn't doing enough...when in fact they are the stonewallers. Hey "mom" you want to help...take the d@mn test. Gma too if need be. Her knowledge of the law, imo is not from the abiding side...... she plays games *snort*

Johnson feels they're primarily focusing on Jhessye's mother, Jerice Hunter, and not on finding the 5-year-old.

"All these offenders in this neighborhood and all these people right next door, it's almost like a kid in a candy store," said Johnson.

Johnson told ABC15 that Jhessye might be with a cousin.

"I was comfortable she was taking good care of her," Johnson claimed.
That cousin, according to family members, raised Jhesseye for four and a half years while her mother was in prison on charges of child abuse.

"She had parenting classes," Johnson said."She had all the classes that she needed to take to rehabilitate herself. Four and half years of that."

After being released in 2005, Hunter was reunited with all of her children including Jhessye. Now she has none of them.

"Well, everything you have was taken from you and you've been vilified over and over and over," Johnson explained when asked how her daughter was holding up.

Is a cousin missing too? Is this what Johnson is inferring?

Dogs never picked up Jhessye's scent. I was thinking about this earlier, if she played in front of the house, ran back and forth to a neighbor's house, or was at that playground a day or two prior to disappearing. Wouldn't the dogs have picked up a scent?

Also, the woman who was seen putting a child in her car. Are we satisfied that had nothing to do with J? I have to admit, after hearing the rumors that she may have been sold, or even that one of the cousins may have taken her, I keep going back to that possible sighting. If it was related to an abduction by the cousin, how would they have known Jerice left the house, how long she would be gone. Not to mention that the other children were in the backyard and J was alone inside? Following that train of thought gets a little far-fetched right?

Also, how does keeping her out of school for a week prior to her going missing play into this? Uggh, I go round and round on theories and end up back at the beginning.

I would like to think that a cousin took Jahessye to safeguard her from JH, but I seriously have my doubts. I think the cousins would go about gaining custody of J legally, since JH is a convicted child abuser. Surely, they documented the wounds they've noticed on the children? The older children are old enough to testify against their mother.

Anyway, what would the cousins gain by abducting J if they go to jail? I think they would have admitted taking Jahessye by now and noted to LE that JH came and took J from them without their consent after she was released from prison. And what about the other children? They are also victims of JH's abuse and I'm sure the cousins are equally concerned for their well-being. Why take only Jahessye?

At this point, I'm afraid something much more sinister than a family squabble over custody rights is at play. :(

I do not believe any family members are missing. I believe the cousin she refers to is the one who has been vocal in the press earlier letting everyone know she doesn't trust Jerice and worries Jerice may have disappeared Jhessye.

MOO on Shirley's statements is that they are more of the same. Lotsa hot air full of deflection.

Just more smoke and mirrors. That cousin's name might as well be Jesse Grund.

I wonder if the Cousin will speak out in her own defense? It's certainly a serious accusation to make ...

Jerice....Take the LDT, you've run out of people to blame. Jhessye has been gone too long, and only you have the answers.

sigh. another day. No answers. Why do I have that discouraging feeling that we will never know what happened to this child? Praying I am wrong and that LE is very busy behind the scenes. This silence on little Jhessye's case is maddening indeed.

I wonder WHEN they are going to start that landfill dig. It just sits there with a tarp covering.
Are they waiting until Jerice tells them what happened? That could be the 12th of never.

Come on already... cops dig through landfills all the time.
