I'm sick with a sore throat, cold, and fever, and the neurons aren't firing as fast as they should, or so it feels. The above statement isn't computing for me. Would someone explain it, please. What angle could LE not follow while she was locked up? :waitasec:

I'm trying to figure that out. I'm thinking because the evidence of abuse is related to a possible charge of murder and they would rather not lay their
evidence out at a child abuse trial, before they conduct a murder trial.

Guys, this could be a clue that something more intense is coming down the pike for this beast. Fingers crossed.

Cobb says that doesn't mean charges won't be filed in the future -- he says the MCAO is awaiting results from an additional investigation into Hunter by the Glendale Police Department before making any charging decisions. He says his office is working closely with Glendale cops.

Waiting on forensics gathered at the Apartment last Tuesday?

Bet we are going to see an uproar from the people on this. I hope family members organize a March of Justice for Jhessye.

I think I'm going to bust a spring this afternoon, if this thing is mishandled. :(

so how does not arresting her for the child abuse now allow them to follow up on new leads... can't they follow the new leads while she sits in the pokey?????

Right?!? Why couldn't they have filed an extension to the deadline? Unless there is a chance that they are hoping by letting her out, that she will unknowingly lead them to Jhessye. I find that improbably though, since she is savvy enough to know she'll be watched.

Most importantly, I hope there is some sort of enforceable clause that we don't know about (yet) that states the children will remain in their foster homes for the time being.

I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.

Well, the mom now KNOWS, LE is on to her and KNOW what she did, IMHO. Her days on the outside are now numbered.

Wonder what she'll do with her new-found freedom?

Inquiring minds want to know.:websleuther:

:maddening:

I wonder where Jerice went when she was released? The day she was arrested, I remember reading in an article that the electricity was turned off at her apartment right after she was taken into custody. I was wondering if the landlord did it to prevent her from coming back if she was bonded out.

They couldn't drop these charges later, but keep her in jail as if they were still pursing the abuse charge?

Thank you, Gitana! That does make sense. Otherwise, I can't see any other reason why she couldn't be charged with abuse now and have a murder charge added later. I think you've probably hit the nail on the head. :thumb:

um, I'm going call BS to Shirley's claim that the landlord and some RO has somehow prevented her from even being able to speak to Jerice ON THE PHONE at the apartment.

How stupid does she think the public is????

I agree lynn, and I think I know what it is. Both these ladies knew that charges were coming. Shirley suddenly saw her own behind in the line of fire and choose to set about covering it. This is why she and Jerice no longer seem to be presenting a "united" front.

They were afraid that the phones were being listened to. JMO.

Quoting nursebeeme:
Jerice said this last month (chilling)

Quote:
"I really think they should take the focus off of me and quit asking people -- wasting time -- if I did something to my daughter," Hunter told us last month. "They should quit holding my babies hostage and trying to get them to say something [about what happened to Jahessye]. [Authorities are] telling me 'your kids aren't saying anything.' It's been 13 days. What do they expect my babies to say that they haven't already said? [CPS] don't wanna hear 'we love our mama, we wanna go home we want our mommy' -- they don't wanna hear that. They won't let me see them because they don't want them running into my arms. They don't wanna hear them scream 'mommy.'"

I'll just bet that she's heard them screaming "mommy" a lot of times when she beat them.

Good call-- I like your optimism. And you definitely may be right. Here's to hoping!

I pray this is just legal manuevering on teh part of the county attorney so that they can build their case for murder without tipping their hands to Jerice's defense as to exactly what they have til they file those charges.
