Let's just hope no one's gonna buy what they're selling.

It never made any sense from the beginning. I think the jury will see right through the monster and grand-monster.

I do wonder if her prior abuse charges, and prison stint will be allowed in?

Aurgh, you know there's going to be mitigating factors, grandma is a piece of work.
Grandma might not want to involve herself too directly lest her OWN history w CPS come into play to dispute her credibility. Let alone the fact SHE returned Jhessye's siblings to their momster, Jerice, all without knowledge of California CPS, who placed those kids in GRANDMA's care when Jerice went to PRISON for abusing THEM.Bring it Gramma! I dare you.

EXACTLY. Grandma should be in a cell alongside her monster daughter, IMO. :jail: :jail:

I do so look forward to watching this trial. I'm still a bit leery of AZ trials. There were four I followed and the streaming was awful. There were the two Baby Gabriel trials to start with. Slow and late. HLN was doing the Sweat Lodge trial and dropped coverage in the middle because of all the delays. The worst was the Brian Hulsey trial, when Juan Martinez prosecuted. We got some streaming of the trial at the beginning, quite incomplete. Then, the streaming stopped. We (and some of you were there) bombarded the local media and they sent us all sorts of excuses, including lack of interest... in the shooting of a LE by a meth-fueled perp. The rest ended up being a weak trial by tweet.

Let's pray that Jerice Hunter gets full and complete streaming. It's my next trial to watch. Jhessye deserves justice and we deserve to watch it.

Prosecution can't bring up the prior stint in prison, technically it was a different crime. However, the defense is going to have to explain why Someone else was taking care of our Butterfly. That would open the door to prior charges. IMO

Does anyone know if they will live stream the motion(s) hearing on the 20th? TIA if I overlooked that info.

  • #167
YES!!! AW can you put the live stream on your page or on youtube? Not going to be able to catch this during the day, and don't want to miss a minute! I, along with many of you here, have waited a long time for this trial!

I can't knox. To my dismay, I cannot upload video to the case archives since November. I will catch as much as possible and post the pics.

I will add the live-stream link to my facebook page, but I haven't got many "likes" on that so it will be a limited audience there. https://www.facebook.com/cca.crankycrankerson?sk=wall

Hi, I am new at this trial. I am glad Jhessye is referred to as Butterfly.
The Butterfly is the symbol of the Compassionate Friends, a group for
parents and relatives of children who have been murdered or died an
untimely death. A very nice Organization.

Judge Mroz will decide if cameras will be present in court.

http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...essye-shockley-murder-trial-cameras/70326722/

Both prosecutors and defense attorneys told Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Rosa Mroz that they opposed the presence of any cameras in Jerice Hunter's murder trial. But an attorney representing the media reminded Mroz in a hearing Monday morning that the presence of a camera would serve the public's interest in the high-profile case.

Mroz previously approved the use of cameras and live streaming with a 30-minute delay prior to the attorneys' objections.

Does anyone have a link to the live stream or a link to any local News stations that might be live streaming? TIA

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge is restricting video coverage of the trial of an Arizona woman in the 2011 disappearance of her 5-year-old daughter.

Under the ruling from Judge Rosa Mroz, video and audio recording at the trial of Jerice Hunter will generally be permitted. But she is prohibiting live-streaming of the proceedings.

Disappointing.

Thank you tlcya. I misunderstood.. Thought they were live streaming! Well... we can follow by tweet I guess.. used to that by now after The Arias Retrial or... we can follow by night if videos will be released each day after court.
I will continue to follow which ever way I can.

darn. I would love to see this momster with her feet to the fire. :furious: I guess tweets will have to do.

I'm disappointed too. I'm also confused. They can't stream it but they can record it? So can they post the video to news websites after the trial?
