Hi, I'm thankful they weren't weeks into deliberations. I cant believe they'd
accept a pregnant woman. Only reason being there is always a possibility of
hospitalization , bed rest , etc..

I think there is another pregnant juror, not sure how far along she is. I can see how that could potentially be beneficial to both the prosecution, and the defense.

I feel for Lisa and the other family members, this waiting is tantamount to torture.

Jerice Hunter trial: Jury must start deliberations over after juror dismissed due to medical issue

PHOENIX - Jurors in the Jerice Hunter trial were told Monday to pick a new foreperson and to start deliberations over after a sitting juror was dismissed.

A female juror, only known as juror #2, was dismissed because of a medical issue. An alternate juror, known as juror #4, will now join deliberations to decide if Hunter is responsible for her 5-year-old daughter's disappearance and presumed death.

Judge says the discussions have to be started fresh. She took notes made in deliberation room during deliberations out. #JericeHunter

The judge said jury discussions and notes must start over to include the new juror, which is now made up of six men and six women.

Unless the replaced juror was the Foreman, I can't figure out why there is a need to appoint another Foreman. A similar situation occurred during the capital murder trial I served as juror. An alternate had to be brought up to speed and deliberations had to start over, but we did not have to choose another foreman.

I imagine that it was frustrating to the remaining jurors. They have spent quite a bit of time already on deliberations. I certainly hope that the pregnant jurors do not go into labor until this trial has ended. :gaah:
