Deceased/Not Found AZ - Jhessye Shockley, 5, Glendale, 11 Oct 2011 - #7 *J. Hunter guilty*

I typically would not wish violence upon anyone. However there are cases every now and again where Prison "code" doesn't bother me in the least.

I think she should be locked up alone in a tiny dark cell 24/7...slapped around daily and given food and water every 4 days.. just so she can begin to understand what she did to this innocent child.

I think they can still bring in a verdict today even with that schedule.

Yeah, I just saw this tweet from Tammy:

Jury deliberations in the #JericeHunter murder trial start at 1:30 today but I'm already at the courthouse working on my show:)
---

Surprised they chose to come in so late, hopefully all they'll need (or expect to need) is this afternoon.

How did the jury react at closing? Any jurors who seemed like wild cards?

  • #667
I'm guessing that the jury wants to get back to their lives. If they thought they would need a whole day they would have come in this morning. Why would they drag it out when they're just making like five dollars a day? I'm sure those pregnant women would rather be someplace comfortable.

If the observers tweets are to be believed, they hung on the prosecution's every word and they were not impressed by the defense.

That's good to hear! Fingers crossed and prayers being said.

20 minutes or so from now deliberations will begin :crossfingers:

Lisa Vance, who helped raise #JhessyeShockley for most of her life, outside court with family. #JericeHunter

I find it interesting that the family members who sat behind JH were mostly absent during closing arguments. If her own relatives have finally seen through her lies, the jury shouldn't have any trouble seeing It either.

I was out of town all day yesterday and read thru quickly last eve and this a.m. to catch up. Anyone know if they deliberated yesterday? Or did they pick the Foreperson and call it a day? TIA

  • #677
They just started deliberating at 1:30 AZ time. 4:30 Eastern, 3:30 Central, 2:30 MT, 1:30 Pacific

ETA: Too many hours in the sun pulling weeds today! LOL! Why do these weeds grow all winter and spring while covered with snow?

If my original guess is right, I'm looking for a 1 1/2 hour verdict. I NEVER call times for deliberation. I just had the thought whizz by me and I'm sticking to it up to 6:30! (That's Eastern Time)

No idea Bravo, the minute entry only said they were sent back to choose a foreperson and begin deliberations then 2 minutes later the court stood in recess, none of the reporters stayed except maybe Tammy Rose and all she said later was her laptop battery died during court so couldn't tell if she knew how long they stayed or if they deliberated at all.

I am so grateful for all of you who have copied the tweets and created the archives and just kept her thread moving along.

It makes me incredibly sad that her case wont over load the boards, but at least she knows we have a bunch of sleuthers and a bunch of guests who are in it until the end.
