Deputies seek public's help to find missing man

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 56-year-old man who has been missing since Saturday.
Upon arrival, Zavala said deputies met with the reporting party who stated that the missing person, identified as John Burkett, had left the residence at 7 a.m. on his way to work but never arrived.

YCSO: Vehicle of missing man has been found

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to News 11 that the vehicle belonging to 56-year-old John Burkett has been found.
The vehicle was in a canal north of County 5th Street and Gila Gravity canal, near Mittry Lake.
The vehicle was recovered Monday morning.

Wow after 8 months!

On the fb page they say (in comments) the water level was too high and for some reason the water level went down recently and that's why the jeep was spotted.

Vehicle was covered in moss. John was not in it.

I hope they will search the canal now thoroughly. Very likely John's in there too.

They never wrote about the foot found, or?!

Yuma County Sheriff's deputies confirmed the foot of a man who went missing in June 2016 was recovered a month after the man disappeared.

YCSO added Burkett's cause of death was listed as undetermined.
