Rustyprop....Is it pretty much volunteer searchers out there with little to no LE there?

ETA: Are there any empty warehouses in that area? Big storage buildings?

Mark Klaas recommended that they stop searching at night.

Why are they searching at night? What do they hope to achieve with an ATV and a flashlight?
It's more likely that night searchers will trash evidence before they see it.
Can police reign in the untrained volunteers, and focus the investigation from the evidence outward?
Finding the remains before they are nothing more than dust in the wind is really important, but night searches seems disorganized.

In all seriousness though, I am struggling to completely pass the idea that it was not Tina at the bank. It does look like her. I am in Arizona and it is odd that the story has not been circulated more and more or less swept under the rug. I can-not say that it is unrelated when either case has yet to be solved.

My initial thought was that the son has something to do with it, along with the cousin. That is still my strongest scenario ( almost a tie), followed by Mike, then the whole drug cartel thing, which is completely going down the rabbit hole. It had to start at their home and continue from there. I live about 50 miles from this area and the whole drug thing seems far fetched. Yuma? Perhaps. Maricopa, not so much. I highly doubt this was random...

I believe that someone close to the family or area is responsible. Location of the car, wallet at home, recent arson, money issues... This will not end well. It won't. Not this far along.

As for the PI? Seems like a horrible waste of money. Under resourced, going on the same info we have for the most part.

I don't find this case confusing.

I see a couple who were last seen on Sunday night, and were reported missing at 7:30PM Monday. There is no evidence that they left the house alive, or intending to go to a meeting at 5:30AM. Tina's purse was left behind, but the cell phones are missing. The car was missing, but was found 17 hours later within a short walking distance from the house, but unlocked, somewhat hidden, and covered in dust/dirty. Mike is a neatfreak, so he would not leave his car dusty/dirty.

What that says to me are two possibilities:

Someone targeted Mike and Tina, parked a vehicle where Mike/Tina car was found, and retrieved her/his own car several hours later, OR someone in the house is responsible and that person parked near the house to avoid detection (not in bed in the morning).

The purse in the house suggests that Mike and Tina did not complete their normal routine on the morning that they allegedly left the house.
Who else was in the house that night?
What happened in the house that night?
What sort of meeting is scheduled at 5:30AM with an accountant and an unemployed pilot?

Er, ok. I'm simply confused by all the relatives and who is who, I really can't get my head around that. And the stabbing, arsonist/fire's etc. All of that is completely bizarre.
Also, where is it mentioned that they had a "scheduled meeting" at 5:30am? Interesting. I've only seen it reported that M and T left the house at 5am to go to appointments?

No the mitre saw accident was Mike running trim on his previous house for christ sake he didnt purposely try to cut off his arm!

I don't think they were saying Mike did it to himself, they're saying could someone like a drug dealer or smuggler have done it in regards to a debt owed.

Sorry ... Mike. I'm looking at two different cases ... sorry.

Was Mike behind in child support, or were his wages garnished for another reason?
Is inheritance joint property?

Inheritances are separate property. I read that it was "a few thousand dollars," not a large amount for something nefarious to happen involving that money.

Since Mike's injury was not job-related, he would be receiving disability income from SS more than likely. He may have had a LTD policy through work, which would provide benefits until SS kicks in.

I believe the kids are teen-agers and older.

This whole case is confusing; lots of red herrings. I was surprised that the PI was so outspoken. He seems to believe they met with foul play and even threw in "the husband."

No, the main address is 50740 which is owned and occupied by the Dugan clan (mikes sister LD, her husband GD and their 3-4 kids. Part of that property is 50810 and has/had a mobile home that Mike, Tina and son were staying in but an arsonist burned it up in September 2014... so does that mean they were staying in the primary home with the Dugans? Or was the mobile home replaced?? Anyway, I bet this is behind the "too many people" comment by the PI

All of this searching and still they have no trace of them.

I hope said perp didn't have a shovel available and take the time to bury them out in the desert. If so, this mystery may linger for a long long time. Their car being covered in dusty overspray when it was abandoned sort of makes you wonder how much time was spent covering this alleged crime up, not to mention how far out it was driven that day.

The other possibility, they may be on private property that either hasn't been searched , or permission to search it has been denied. There can be different reasons for this. They can't search private property without expressed permission from the owner or a search warrant. LE may have a lot of difficulty getting a search warrant if they have no idea where to look and no probable cause to look there.

I'm right there with you. Lots of people, and serious happenings within this family. Does anyone know how far from home Tinas job was?

If they were living with LD/GD, wouldn't their cell phones be their only phones? If so, they most likely would keep their phones turned on @ all times. When their phones were turned off & quit pinging would tell a lot.

I have no idea... thats why I am hoping one of the locals who have helped search might know which is the case? Either way I think Mesa is same direction but farther away.

Good morning!
I was thinking last night, being a pilot is not just a job. Its a passion. It's almost a sport for bugs sake right? I wonder if he was still flying small, private planes? I have had 2 separate devastating injuries to my right arm and shoulder, what they can do nowadays is amazing, I could see him not getting commercially vetted again, but surely he could fly privately? And if he wasn't allowed to fly privately I wonder if he still would anyway? I'm not sure where my thoughts are going but you don't just stop being a pilot. And Mexico. Mexico also feels like a puzzle part. They could have met some really scary people so maybe voluntary disappearance isn't my only thought.

Yeah I know. This is just one of the things that is confusing about this case. One report says boss called wondering where she was, then other reports she had day off. That is a big deal IMO. If she had the day off then maybe she and Mike had errands and then had something fun planned. That would alter their route, their time, their events drastically as opposed to Mike dropping Tina off at work for the day. JMO Thanks again :seeya:

Woah, they were going to Mesa that day? Now I know Mesa is next to Chandler where she works but Mesa holds a particular interest.
