Saw a pic on twitter of her leaving the courthouse free. Back in the 80's it was easy to trust what a cop says...they are a cop...they don't make stuff up. Being convicted on a crooked cop's word alone wouldn't happen too often nowadays, esp with the public being more aware of how some are corrupt.

Thanks for this TF. Hubby was in LE and quit because of the corruption.

I don't blame him at all. I know many try but....it's all around

Not familiar with this case, but my first question is why would these two men want to kill a 4 year old boy, especially when one of them had custody of his own young daughter?

Don't know....but they pulled the trigger anyway. They confessed and didn't testify against her. Its an odd case but it was so poorly done that its hard to say why....on her orders or on their own.

I believe with all my heart she had a hand in her son's death. No one would benefit as much as she would. IT was not a sex killing or a kidnapping but basically a mob hit to get right of the small boy.
I still believe that she somehow planned this.

this story might remind some of the testimony and/or evidence that her OWN family gave against her......

Sorry, I'm shedding no tears for Debra Milke

Like the words of her sister, Denise Pickinpaugh, who cited times when Milke would lock Christopher outside their home naked if he messed up his pant and once taped a pacifier to his mouth to keep him from splitting it out. Pickinpaugh told a court officer that Milke would throw Christopher across the room as discipline and deprive him of medicine because she was angry that he would get sick.

Is there a thread for this case? A search only brought up this thread, but I'd like to know who the two men were, how the mom knew them, etc. TIA!

Montgomery asks state court to erase Milke ruling

snip

"On Thursday, Montgomery went a step further by asking the Arizona Supreme Court to bend the rules and "depublish" the March opinion by the Arizona Court of Appeals, claiming it unduly expanded case law that requires prosecutors to disclose evidence favorable to defendants."

snip

"But other legal authorities questioned the logic of Montgomery's request.

"There is no doubt in my mind that Brady does include 'the entire testimonial and personnel records of every law enforcement witness in a criminal case,'" said former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Paul Charlton. "It is no excuse to say that I, as the prosecutor, did not know. It's not too great a responsibility to know if an officer has a history of misstatements or lying. To argue otherwise is disconcerting.""

I don't know why he refuses to accept the court's opinion and now is blatantly asking for rule bending (motion not timely filed by several weeks) and for the court to make Brady less defined and more difficult for reversals/retrials based on violations (which, in this case were at trial and appeals, as opined by the CoA). He's so wrong and he just can't see it. Read what the Appeals Court said Mr. Montgomery, esp. about Saldate, you can't hide information like that at every level and expect to get away with it, that is no form of justice under any definition of the word.

Thesiren - I don't know of any other thread here about the case since the original trial was 20-some years ago.

Milke's given a very long interview to Der Spiegel. It's headlined 'The American Nightmare'.

She says she can't wait to move back to Germany. She'll have a big shock if she goes back to Berlin, where she's from. There's been a few changes since she left...

The article's in English.

Very interesting article. Very in depth and interesting. Wonder what her sister and father think now...of anything has changed
