Debra Milke update: $250,000 bond set for woman accused of having young son killed in 1989

If Milke is released on bond she will live in a home her supporters have bought in the Phoenix area.
She would be required to be electronically monitored and have a curfew between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Milke would not be able to initiate contact with her ex-husband, Arizona Milke.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is again pursuing the death penalty. Debra Milke has maintained her innocence and denied she admitted to the crime.

For the first time in well over a decade -- and months since a federal judge overturned her murder conviction -- Debra Milke is free.

A short time after the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office indicated she would be leaving, video showed someone who appeared to be Milke being driven away Friday from the Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix. Sheriff's office spokesman Brandon Jones subsequently confirmed that Milke had been released.

Even though she's no longer behind bars -- leaving the jail without addressing reporters -- Milke's legal ordeal may not be over.

I just saw this on Nancy Grace..........
1. why did the men murder execution style a little boy? (their motive)
2. why did mom not want her little boy?
3. did she really ask relatives to take him?
4. how much was the life insurance policy?
5. how long did she work at insurance company?
6. Was insurance doubled if baby was accidently killed?
7. Why did she allow these creeps to have her son?
8. how did the bullets matching the killer bullets get in her purse?
9. how can we read about original story?
10. she was married/ divorced? Why not give him to dad's family?
I'm googling now..........

I am not sure about all the other questions but number 10 I can answer. The dad was a drunk and constantly in jail and in trouble with the law. She would never have given him to the dad, he was not in a position to look after the boy. In in the answer I just gave I can't understand that she would want her child murdered yet, feel her son is not safe with his dad due to his rough lifestyle.

The father of course was the first to say that Debra was involved with his son's murder, however, he was not even involved in their lives at that stage.

I would love to see the evidence in this case. So far, I have seen nothing more than just hearsay and gossip. In my opinion, the State had more evidence in the Casey Anthony trial, yet she was found not guilty.

Bullets in a handbag? Well, if the housemate (who seems to have been obsessed with Debra) wanted to get rid of the boy, he could have easily put the bullets in her handbag.

My 2-year old went with me to the chemist and she took lollies from the counter and put it in my bag. I did not see it, but as we were about to exit, I was stopped by security. I had NO idea how it got there until the security guard told me. He was smiling at it. I of course felt embarrassed and apologized.

Hearing this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. AZ time (same as CA time for the time zone challenged lol):

http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/regio...-hearing-set-for-womans-retrial-in-sons-death

I don't know if the camera will be on in the courtroom, I hope so. I have paid attention to this case for quite some time and was elated that her conviction was overturned and she was freed. I do not believe she had anything to do with her son being killed aside from allowing him to leave with the two men convicted of his murder.

Can you just imagine the horror of someone you knew or trusted killing your son and then having the detective lie and say you confessed, only he didn't write it down or video it or have any proof whatsoever of that? And finding out later he's lied on the stand before, and knowing you are going to Death Row because of his lie? I'm just flabbergasted that this has gone on so long, what a travesty.

IMO:

I think there needs to be an amendment to Miranda rights (or a whole new law) that not only says you have the right to an attny during police questioning but that it is *required* that you have an attny during any questioning. Had that been the case here she likely wouldn't have even been charged, much less convicted and lose years upon years of liberty.

Yeah, I know, nothing like making her wait another 'forever', I don't know which side asked for such a lengthy delay but goodness, will this ever be over for this poor woman?

I know. I can't barely imagine.

If she is innocent (I happen to think she is), this is cruel, unusual, etc., and if I were her, I would sue anyone and everyone sue-able for all they're worth.

I don't think she was innocent. I have a big issue with them finding the same caliber of bullet in her purse...

This makes no sense to me.
