XXL size blue plaid boxer shorts, brown belt, black jeans (Interstate brand), short sleeve button-down shirt that was white with a blue plaid pattern, size 2XL

There is still quite a lot of recognizable clothing left for someone who has been out there in the elements since 1950.

Closer to 2007 I would assume.

Jack West is somewhat older than the estimated range, but he went missing from Phoenix in 1975 (NamUs says that the UID could have been there as far back as 1950!). I see a resemblance between Mr. West and the reconstruction.

Sleuthnewbie, since you have been in contact with the case manager before, are you comfortable asking if they'd release photos of the clothing tags, assuming they were still attached? Vintage clothing tags are silkscreened, if that's the correct name for it, and modern tags tend to be printed by computer. If nothing else the tags could give us a better idea of how recently this man died. Was size designations like "2XL" and "XXL" even used as far back as 1950, or would a men's plus size have been phrased differently?

Also, there is so much glare on that watch photo it's difficult to read what appears to be cursive script. Any chance they could release a better photo or at least identify the watch's manufacturer?

Thank you, if you are able to do this.

:bump: I was thinking about this UID and was wondering if, possibly, he wasn't quite as heavy as he was estimated to be; there are some people who wear really baggy clothing for whatever reason (style, comfort, etc.). I don't want to disparage the victim, yet I have also read that some people hide weapons and other contraband under baggy clothing.

Mario Angel Gastellum-Villa, 36yo from CA and no contact with family since April 2005 (2 years before) though no indication why he disappeared (his car was at his residence). MP is 5'8" est.280 lb. so would be stretching the height/weight estimates. Noting that the UID was found in "skeletal parts" I assume some licence may have been taken with ear shape, hairline so I looked more at the general face shape, eye spacing etc. The angle of the MP's photo is difficult for comparison purposes. This UID is now listed as only White (not White/Hispanic) with a date of death between 2004-2007. (The 1950 date was probably an error - maybe the default start date on the database they were using?)

NamUs has this photo of a little angel charm that must have been found with the remains, although I can't see it mentioned under clothing or jewelry. It strikes me as something that would be worn by a little girl or woman and I find it interesting that it's associated with this man, as he seemed to be wearing fairly standard masculine clothing.
