I highly recommend listening to the entire podcast but here are a few things that stood out to me.

Dave said goodbye to Nick and went to the front door but came right back in because he forgot something on his desk. The suspects came in right after this pretending to sell Freon but surveillance cameras showed the box was actually empty so they could conceal the gun inside.

The surveillance cameras also catch Dave peaking out the blinds as the suspect's truck pulled in. That is when he went back to his desk because he allegedly forgot something. It is SO obvious he was checking to see if his hitmen were there, IMO.

Dave immediately steers the narrative by telling LE it was a robbery. Dave says it looked like Nick knew the two guys. There was no more elaboration on that point.

Dave said he gave them his wallet and all of his money in his pockets but cops found more than a thousand dollars still in his pocket.

Nick's wife immediately asked police, "Where's Dave? He probably had something to do with this."

Info directly from Nick's wife:

Dave's former partner in the business (Frank) told Nick that Dave is "a shady 🤬🤬🤬" and that's why he wanted to get out of the business. So many red flags before Nick bought into the business.

6 months prior to his murder, Nick told his wife he felt like he was being watched. 3 months later he caught Dave taking money out of the company account two months in a row totaling $45,000. Nick was very suspicious of Dave and wanted to get out of the business. In May, Nick told his wife he still feels like someone is watching him and he was worried Dave would hire a hitman to kill him and take the insurance money.

Apparently Dave also repeatedly tried to get his former business partner (Frank) to get life insurance but Frank didn't trust him and said he wanted to be worth more alive than dead.

It's also worth a listen to hear everything the office manager said about Dave and the days leading up to the murder. Nick didn't come to work the day before the shooting and Dave was freaking out wondering where he was. Nick and Dave also had an argument about finances shortly before the murder. There's more from the office manager but I can't remember it all. She had left at 5:00 the day of the shooting.

Dave started trying to get Nick's wife to sign off on the life insurance paperwork 5 days after his death. He hid one of the insurance policies. Both policies totaled 8 million dollars. He forged her signature to cash them in and the police said they didn't have enough evidence to charge him for that either. I don't know why Gilbert PD seems to be protecting him but they've been busted for a lot of shady stuff recently, too.

They are doing a second episode next week on Dave Sweetman's shady past especially his wife's death. It was such a rabbit hole they had to make it it's own episode.
All that you stated from the podcast has been floating around for years!! His deceased wife’s family has tried to have her death declared a murder for years also. Search, the details are out there. All MOO.
