AZ - Nick Cordova, 40, murder caught on surveillance video, Gilbert, May 27,2020

I think we talked about the possibility of a key man policy, and I do wonder if each of the partners had coverage. I googled but found nothing which specifically talked about a payout on a murdered individual. Just that murder is usually a covered event.
Oh yes. It’s covered. And they do pay. But they do their own investigation and follow LE’s investigation, so payout takes a while if you’re a suspect.

Right, that's a given. But LE has been very tight lipped, so we don't know who has been cleared to date, he may not be under any suspicion at all. I do feel comfortable saying LE likely put the partner under a microscope, if for nothing else his wife's death, JMO. Two people meeting an early death makes him a pretty unlucky guy IMO.

Just checked for updates and found nothing. We're approaching the one year mark, sure hope LE is making some sort of progress!

I experience a lot of highs and lows here on WS but I keep coming back. These waiting on the unknown times are the lows.

I can't believe that this is still unsolved. I have my own idea what happened but obviously someone has covered their steps well. MOO

I meant to come here and post Thursday, but missed it. May 27, 2021 was the one year anniversary of Nick's death.
I googled, but couldn't find a news story or case update :(

Even the Justice for Nick Cordova facebook page is inactive. Last post was July 2020 :(

There seems to be a “no info released” policy all over. Every case I follow is this way now. Once it’s a few months old it just fades to black.

When they can’t solve them, LE wants theses cases to go away. I’m watching quite a few that are going cold as I type this.

Yes, same here. I could cry tears of sadness for the family and friends of the deceased, and I could cry tears of anger at the murderers who are walking around free.

I have no idea what progress if any LE has made. I've seen many departments across the US claim to be under-staffed and sense their frustration. As a taxpayer it frustrates me that public safety is not a priority, if they need more funding it would seem critical to provide it.

I wish LE would provide an update, anyone have a desire to contact a media rep to see if they can check in with Gilbert PD?

I think it’s a great idea but I’m awfully concerned about the lack of local interest by the community. As @Knox points out above, a local group hasn’t said anything in over a year. The seemingly lack of concern from everybody involved is downright disturbing.

Fades to black, that's a stark and discouraging description. But that's certainly how it feels, will Nick's murder ever be solved?

I just learned about the business partner's spouse. Hope LE taking notice. More insurance?

Shocking isn't it? But how overtly obvious would it be to do that again?

There’s a woman who’s name I don’t remember, who killed 2 husbands and attempted to kill her daughter. So it’s been done. Obvious or not.

Seen them on Dateline over the years, true.

Stacy Castor?

I was trying to recall this too and I think you are correct. Tho I just seen another one where the wife killed a husband, autistic son, and unemployed daughter, because they were costing her too much money.
