AZ - Nick Cordova, 40, murder caught on surveillance video, Gilbert, May 27,2020

This case seems so solvable. They even have one of the suspects on surveillance with a very clear picture of his face. Looked like a hired hit to me. I really hope his family gets answers soon.
I really believe it was Nicks silent business partner. Apparently he was NEVER at the business but magically he was that day!!! And while Nick was brutally killed the business partner was only “knocked out” also the business partners ex wife met a suspicious untimely death a few years ago.

Absolutely! He has an extremely sketchy past plus the shady behavior around Nick's death. According to Nick's wife, the business partner had somehow changed Nick's life insurance policy to pay it all to him without Nick's knowledge.

Every time I see this case in my watched threads pop up - I excitedly come here wondering if an arrest was made.
The four year mark is rapidly approaching. I don't have a lot of confidence this will be solved.

I agree with the two previous posts wholeheartedly, but there must not be enough evidence to take any action.

I do the same with several cases that I’m following but this is one where I expect something.

GILBERT, Ariz. - Four years have passed since Nick Cordova's murder in Gilbert and his wife is steadfast in finding out who took him from her and their two children.

A 300-page police report and 911 call leave loved ones with many questions – Who killed him, and why?

His widow believes it’s time to put pressure on the Gilbert Police Department to make a break in the case.

Gilbert Police has high-quality security footage from inside Gilbert Air, but it’s never been released to the public.

A unique piece of evidence found at the crime scene was a potato with a hole in it.

Alysha thinks Nick was targeted, this was not some random murder. If GPD has "high quality video from inside Gilbert Air", what does it show? Is Sweetman a POI?

WTH would a potato with a hole be used for? My thought went to use as a suppressor, but that's ridiculous - right?

Apparently, it's not ridiculous - you're good! It was a plot point on The Wire which led to experiments regarding its efficacy. "The sweet potato appears to be used as a silencer," the prosecutor, First Assistant District Attorney Jessica Elumba, told ABC News." from Sweet potato helps solve Massachusetts cold case murder after 12 years
Interesting, thanks for posting this. So they found DNA on the sweet potato. Did they wait twelve years to test it? That parts not clear.

I wonder if GPD tested the potato? That was new information, I’d never hear about the potato until now. That must have came from Nicks wife? The bit about high quality video from inside Gilbert Air is new also.

This is the first I'm hearing of this case. Do they know who the man in the video is? I can't believe this case hasn't been solved considering the clarity of the video.

I'd start at the beginning and read forward :)

I find this bit of body language interesting ....

(This quoted post is from early in the thread.)

To me, the body language looks like someone covering his mouth when burping. Imo.

(Not that this particular action/gesture will solve the case....)

I can't help but feel like they should have released the footage of the suspects at Gilbert Air right away.

Most likely the suspect in the video isn't in the country anymore. Has there been an effort to get coverage of this suspect out to Spanish speaking countries? Whether it be a Spanish language social media post or tv coverage. I'm sure if someone knew him they would easily recognize him. I feel like the more well known this case becomes the more likely it will be solved. Unfortunately, I don't feel like this case has gotten much coverage outside of local news.

I didn’t think that screenshot was compelling.

But now that we know there is security video from inside Gilbert Air, it makes more sense why these two men from a nearby gas station are said to be POI’s.

Hopefully Justin Lum stays on this story, he’s got a large following.

Silent Witness is asking for help from the public as Gilbert Police continue to investigate an incident in 2020 that led to the death of Nicholas Cordova.

Cordova's family took part in a news conference on the case on the afternoon of Feb. 27.

What they're saying:

"Information obtained from tips will help lead investigators to better understand what happened on May 27, 2020, when Nicholas unnecessarily lost his life near 500 West Guadalupe Road," read a portion of the statement. "With detectives searching and family still in mourning, community involvement may be the missing puzzle piece needed to fully understand that happened in this case."

I just realized the other article I posted a few minutes ago didn't mention the increased reward...

"A new reward has been announced as Gilbert police search for the person who shot and killed Nicholas Cordova. A police report obtained by ABC15 says the 40-year-old father of two was at his air conditioning business and on Facetime with his kids when the shooting happened in May 2020."

This is the one case on WS that has never left my mind. I wonder how his wife and children are doing all the time. I hope and pray that someone comes forward with the information needed to bring justice to this family. MOO
