Sad that adults need to be warned not to take small children for a hike on a closed trail in this weather.

It reminded me of that sad case where the parents, child, and dog died on a hike in California. Same thing. Too hot.

Summer in Arizona is too hot to even go swimming.

and it's a closed trail so they're teaching their children that rules don't apply to them as well as risking their lives

I just read that they had to be rescued too! I thought maybe they nailed them when they came back to the parking lot

and there was 5 adults! not one of them spoke up to convince the others not to do it???

The objective is to get individuals safely off the mountain and connected to medical care as quickly as possible. No one should ever be deterred from calling for help out of concern for receiving a citation. If someone is in distress, please call 911 immediately – safety is what matters most.

Well they aren't being charged with going on a closed trail. It sounds like the question is whether there will be CPS engagement and criminal charges related to child abuse/neglect.

In a way, I am not sure that they should be charged. I don't want people to not call for help if they are afraid of being charged by CPS.
