On March 11th,1978 Pauline was seen throughout the day by friends and neighbors until around 8:00 PM when she left to call her boyfriend and arrange to see him later. It’s believed that she might have invited him to have dinner at her home.

On March 12th, 1978 Pauline was found by her brother Chad Burgette. Pauline was 16 at the time of her murder. Pauline’s mother had arranged for her to stay at a friends house over the weekend because she and her son were going to be out of town.

When Pauline’s mother and brother returned to there complex at 26th Street and McDowell, Phoenix, Az Chad found Pauline’s body in her bedroom. The autopsy determined that sexually assaulted and stabbed repeatedly.

I had not heard of this cold case. Found this article: Count Every Mystery: Murder of Pauline "Robin" Burgette
Includes a picture of Pauline. So little information and so many questions. I wonder if they were able to establish an estimated time of death since there is a huge gap of time between when she was last seen/heard from and when she was found. Were there neighbors next door? If so what if anything did they hear? How many people knew that she was home alone? If she invited her boyfriend over for dinner was there stuff there to make dinner? Why was she asked to leave the apt. complex where she was babysitting? What, if anything, did she do? Was she in the habit of locking the door? Is the DNA evidence able to tell us if it is two males? A male and a female or although unlikely, two females?

Anyone have any more information on this case? It seems, unlike others here, that there is a decent amount of evidence. I assume that the cold case unit has not submitted the DNA to places like Ancestry.com or 23 and me or else we would have heard something???

Does anyone know if her case is still being looked at by Phoenix police? If they have ran the DNA sample recently

Robbin Burgette (Silent Witness Photo)

''Robbin was killed in March 1978 at an apartment near 26th Street and McDowell Road, where she lived with her mom and brother. They’d been away for the weekend while she baby-sat at an apartment on the west side of Phoenix.''

“She had been brought back home early,” Schwartzkopf said. “And we know there were problems at the other complex with a gentleman making advances on her while she was baby-sitting there for the three weeks before her murder.”

''Schwartzkopf said there is DNA evidence from the murder scene but there has been no match so far. Officers need leads on where else to look for a possible match. Investigators believe there were at least two people present when the murder happened.''

I was a friend of Robin and possibly the last one to see her before this happened. Are there are any leads on who did this?

I have not seen any recent updates on her case
It is so sad it like her case has been totally forgotten by police
