Found Deceased AZ - Rob Hinderer, 44, Left Airbnb in Quartzsite, 29 June 2020

Rob Hinderer was last seen around 11:30 AM on Monday, June 29 leaving an Airbnb in Quartzsite, Arizona. He might also be in the Phoenix area. He drives a red Mazda SUV. He is a 44-yr-old Asian man, 5'5" tall and around 178 pounds. If you have seen him or have ANY information about his whereabouts, please call ‪(602) 759-0716‬ or email [email protected].

Note: this is a dear friend's brother. I am manning the page, have entered him into NAMUS. Quartzsite PD is investigating. He was reported missing yesterday. A group of friends and I are helping her contact media, hospitals, the Airbnb hosts, etc. If anyone is in the area, please keep your eyes peeled for him or his vehicle.

Yes, a missing persons report was filed with Quartzsite PD yesterday. The report number is 2000402.

Is he from Arizona? There isn’t much in Quartzsite. It’s generally more of a city you drive through on the way to California. I have the usual questions:

Why was he staying there?

Hi there. He has been in quarantine like much of the country and decided to take off for a weekend. I believe he often takes off for a weekend away and stays in Airbnbs frequently. He lives in Phoenix so he drove from Phx. to Quartzsite. Unclear why he chose Quarzsite or if he'd been there before.

There is reason to believe he is in danger. We need to know what happened to him, any clue, after 11:30 AM on Monday. He drove away from that Airbnb and nobody's heard from or seen him since.

Weird, I was going to say the same thing. When I was little, my parents went to a bottle show (antique) there every year. That was over forty years ago and we lived in California (Tri-State corner)

Doesn't look like the population has changed much. I'd be curious what the draw was?

We don't know why he was going to Quartzsite. We know that he had 2 separate Airbnbs booked. The first was for Friday and Saturday night, the second for Sunday night. Despite not being due home to Phoenix until Tuesday, we haven't been able to confirm he had a third Airbnb booked for Monday night (or other plans). He didn't have his bike with him. It's possible he was hiking, but maybe not. Unclear.

The family might be organizing searches soon, near QZ and the Kofa wildlife area off 10 between PHX and QZ. If I have more info to share, I'll post here in case anyone is nearby and can help.

Looking for volunteers to drive throughout the area and look specifically for any signs of his vehicle. It's a big park.
