There is a casino on the San Carlos Apache reservation...usually quite a draw for a variety of people.

My family lives in New Mexico -- there are few reasons to be in that area.

Agree that she is likely a runaway or fell in with risky people.

Wonder how much we'll ever know?

I've heard that people from other parts of the world travel to Mexico, in order to cross the border into the US undocumented.

But the likely Halloween costume doesn't really support that idea.

Yeah, I honestly doubt she is an immigrant because immigrants, especially children, cross in groups and in the same paths that other immigrants travel in. The casino is plausible especially if the she, which is sad, was doing a form of sex work. I wonder if they had tested or found semen on the her body. She also could have been traveling with an older man or woman and they were staying at a hotel or something.?

That is a remote area. Where did this young lady come from??? Why was she there?

It is a remote area but it's only a 2hr 15 min drive from Tucson, 3 1/2 hours from Phoenix.

If I had to guess, she was picked up or killed in one of those cities and her body was left in the remote desert area in hopes of avoiding discovery. I don't think she was a runaway who was missing for months before she died. Her clothing suggests she was killed on the night of a Halloween party. Leading up to her death, she was thinking about what costume to wear, not surviving on the streets.

That seems like the simplest explanation to me. Then again, it's very strange that she wasn't reported missing. I do think she probably wasn't reported as I assume she would be identified by now if any of the obvious missing girls were a match.

After seeing they had finally released a sketch for this case, I decided to look through photos of missing girls going back a few years. One face that stuck out to me was that of a girl by the name of Zarfara West. (I think it's the eye shape that sticks out to me.) I've done a bit of research and can't seem to confirm whether or not she has been found/still missing, or much information at all.

There's a few inch height difference, and she went missing in Florida, so it's definitely a long shot but I figured I'd post anyway since I've not seen her mentioned.

I do not want to focus solely on the casino -- but they do seem to bring in travelers of all sorts.

I haven't spent much time in casinos, but expect that a Halloween party there is likely?

Casinos generally have lots of CCTV -- was that reviewed for the 'witch dress?' OR were there just too many 'witch dresses' to find this young lady?

If this young lady is a trafficking victim, moving her from Florida to the West is not a surprise. Unknown territory might discourage a captive from running away?

But, apparently Ms. West disappeared with siblings, and were thought to be with their Dad. She may of course have left with the group, and then separated from them?

With the recent case in Houston of the suspect trying to drive body of child across border to LA I expanded my search to NM, since this location is fairly close to the border. I came across Audralina Jones-Sena. There is very little information on her other than she went missing January 8, 2020 from Albuquerque area, she’s 5’2” (only an inch taller), she was 15 years old and had auburn hair and Caucasian . I can not find any other info on her for a picture or anything other than Namus to indicate she’s missing.

Maybe the auburn hair is enough to rule her out but I thought I would toss her name into the ring.
Maybe someone else will have better luck digging up some info to see if this is a potential match.

I looked for quite awhile last night between 3-4am because I couldn’t sleep. Apparently my brain was asleep though. This morning I dropped the Jones and she apparently goes by Audra or Lee and her family has some posts on FB. Based on her looks I’m going with it’s not her.

As to the casino on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. It is called Apache Gold. It is approx 2 hours to the west of Safford on US 70, just outside of Globe to the east. This is the same highway that takes you through Globe, Apache Junction, into Phx.
She was found at least 30 mins south of Safford. Which is going towards I-10 and then turning back east and driving down that dirt road a while. There are tons of other places she could have been placed before there. Roper Lake, up the trail, Solomon.
They do not let minors in the casino itself. There could have been a gathering at the hotel or in the area. But then why drive 2-3 hours east and then south to leave her in the trough? I just don't see the casino being a viable thing, imo.
I'm also still not clear if she was in the trough(to me it's ground level for the cattle/wildlife to drink out of, or was she in the tank, which is higher and the cattle can not drink from.)

IMO the casino doesn't make any sense. She was found about 25 miles north of Interstate 10. IMO it's more likely she was dumped there from I-10. If she did attend a Halloween party, it's much more likely to be at a house or in a nearby town, possibly Tucson.

Thanks, @Spiritecho ! I'm just pondering different reasons that a person ends up in an area like this, and certainly I-10 now seems more likely.

I still think that there is a slim possibility that this girl might be LeeAanna Warner. I'm not one hundred percent certain, but I wanted to have her ruled out anyway. Unfortunately I am not American and therefore I have problems connecting NamUs.

I feel as if that LeeAnna may be a little bit too old though since she would be 22.

It seems that she was taken by her father and hasn't been seen since. The short hair always stood out to me in this case, but I imagine if one was attempting to kidnap their kid, one of the easiest ways to disguise their appearance would be a drastic haircut like that.

I also want to add that the possible toys (I believe this detail has yet to be verified) near the body make me think that the killer was someone close to her, and a guilty father definitely fits that.

I would submit her to Namus or the Sheriff/Police office in charge of the case.

This article claims that they were seen in January 2021 - I wonder how reliable that sighting is.

I hadn't seen that there had been a possible sighting, but when I saw they were possibly headed towards CO/WY I plugged in the locations to google maps and it seems like they all connect through the same highways. If they were originally headed North towards CO/WY from MO but realized that they were being looked for there, turning south seems like it would lead them to the dump site (which also happens to be pretty close to a border).

The sighting was said to be in Jan. 2021 so it wouldn't be plausible. Or the dad could have just been sighted with another female/girl that looked like Lucille and the person who reported the sighting was just confused.
