I wonder if the other sock was dirty also? It could be that her socks were just dirty - if she was kicked out, she probably didn't have an extra pair.

I've seen seizures - none from drug OD, but I've seen seizures nonetheless. And while I've never seen a shoe fly off during a seizure, I wonder if it's possible. Why one and not the other? What kind of shoes were they? A slip-on type would fly off more easily than a lace-up one.

Not important questions, but curious.

Great question; it could have been dirty because the inside of her shoes were dirty as well I suppose...but there is soiled and then there is dirty...jmo.

Bumping. fmw - WHERE DID YOU GO, MY FRIEND?!?!?

  • #104
I'm around, just been busy at work. I'll try to post more soon. If you'd like to contact LE about this, ask for Det. Thompson (Tempe Police)...

ANything new about this??

Between slow times at work (where the boss is watching everything we do) and busy times at work, I haven't had the time to do much. I haven't forgotten, though...

I see she still has "recovered" on the They are Missed page, did we ever find out why?
She looked like a very attractive young girl, someone must miss her:confused:

This girl is never far from my mind. I do tend to believe she was Native American and that she was probably from the area. It sure would be helpful to know WHEN she had been kicked out by her mother so we had an idea how long she was on her own. I always felt it was recent and possibly even the day she met up with the guy. Which is why I find it so odd the first thing she wanted to do was buy concert tickets.

Can we find out if she had any money on her when she was found? Seems to me a kid on their own would use their money for something a little more practical - like food or shelter. I know she was young, but sheesh! Doesn't make any sense.

Or.......did this guy purchase the drugs for her in exchange for, uh, something?

BTW - great to "see" you fmw!!!

I do not believe the man's story about this Jane, not one iota and I do not think that the LE in this case does either, but, what are they gonna do without her identity and knowing her previous lifestyle!
Here's the person I believe is her and have already contacted all units involved.... I will let you all know as soon as I hear something!
Leanne Hausberg, her case is here :http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hausberg_leanne.html and she went missing on March 18, 1999 from New York.....
Here's the side by side photos:

Hiya MBB! Great to "see" you here!!! I don't believe the guy's story either, but it seems LE wasn't very aggressive with him - unless there's more info we don't know about.

I still believe this UID was recently kicked out of her home. If not, it seems odd that would be the one bit of info she gave her "friend" - while providing not her name or A name! That's just my take on it. I just don't think we'll find her on the usual missing boards. I don't believe the mother who kicked her out for doing drugs would report her missing...

And based on what we do know, I totally believe her mother kicked her out.

Thanks for pulling this story back on top! My :twocents: is that Jane looks like she's Apache.

I wonder if we can have "Native American" added to the name of this thread - in addition to "Hispanic?" I'm really leaning toward her being NA and I would hate to miss an opportunity to ID this little girl.

What do ya'll think?

It's not a bad idea. She could also be of mixed ethnicity.

UNIVERSITY DR. HE SAID THAT THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. HE ASKED THAT I RESPOND TO THE SCENE TO ASSIST WITH THE INVESTIGATION. ON 04-27-02 AT APPROXIMATELY 0700 HOURS, I ARRIVED AT THE SCENE. UPON MY ARRIVAL, I FOUND THAT THE BUSINESS, THE GOLF WORKS, IS A RETAIL GOLF SUPPLY STORE. THIS STORE IS LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF HACIENDA DR. AND UNIVERSITY DR. THERE ARE TWO DRIVEWAYS FOR THE BUSINESS, ONE IS LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE BUILDING, WHICH ALLOWS ACCESS FROM HACIENDA DR. THE SECOND DRIVEWAY IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE STORE, WHICH ALLOWS ACCESS FROM UNIVERSITY DR. THERE WAS YELLOW CRIME SCENE TAPE WHICH WAS EXTENDED ACROSS THE FRONT (SOUTH) OF THE BUSNSS AND ACROSS THE REAR (NORTH) PARKING LOT. THERE WERE ALSO UNFORMED OFFICERS POSITIONED AROUM, THE BUSINESS FOR SECURITY. SGT. W WAS PRESENT AS THE ON SCENE SUPERVISOR. OFFICER SB, OFFICER RD AND SGT. ML WERE ALL ON THE WEST SIDE. OFFICER R WAS ON THE SOUTH SIDE AND OFFICER P WAS ON THE EAST SIDE. I PARKED MY UNMARKED POLICE VEHICLE ON HACIENDA DR., JUST NORTH OF UNIVERSITY DR. AND WALKED TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE PROPERTY WHERE I WAS ABLE TO VIEW THE BODY FROM A DISTANCE. AS I WAS STANDING ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE PROPERTY, I NOTICED'THAT A BUSINESS HAD JUST OPENED AT 738 S. PERRY LN. THIS BUSINESS IS DIAMOND SCREEN-PRINTING. ON 04-27-02 AT 0720 HOURS, I CONTACTED THE EMPLOYEE INSlDE THE SCREEN-PRINTING SHOP. HE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS CLK WITH AN ARIZONA DRIVER'S LICENSE WHILE STANDING INSIDE THE WORK AREA OF THE SCREEN-PRINTING SHOP, I COULD LOOK IN A SOUTHWESTERLY DERECTION THROUGH THE OPENED GARAGE DOOR AND VIEW THE BODY OF THE DECEASED. MR. K TOLD ME THAT HE HAD CLOSED THE SHOP ON THE EVENING OF 04-26-02 AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30 P.M. HE SAID THAT AFTER HE CLOSED THE STORE FOR THE DAY, HE WALKED OUT TO HIS VEHICLE, WHICH WAS PARKED IN THE SOUTH SIDE PARKING LOT, ADJACENT TO THE NORTH PARKING LOT OF THE GOLF WORKS STORE. HE POINTED TO WHERE HIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED. I FOUND THAT HIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED, FACING IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION, JUST EAST AND NORTH OF THE LOCATION OF THE DECEASED, IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT IF MR. K IN FACT PARKED HIS VEHICLE WHERE HE HAD INDICATED, HE SHOULD HAVE HAD A CLEAR VlEW OF THE BODY, HAD THE BODY BEEN THERE WHEN HE LEFT THE BUSINESS."

"On 04-27-02 at 0530 hours, mr. K returned to work, driving into the south parking lot from hacienda dr. He said that the sun was not up yet, although, it was somewhat light outside. He parked in the south side parking lot directly in front of his business, facing m a southerly direction. When he exited his car, he did not notice the deceased female lying behind the-golf works store, although, he also does not recall specifically looking in that direction. Mr. K entered his store through the office and turned on the lights and turned off the alarm system. We then went into the garage area and turned on the hot water heater. He then went back into the office to lock the front door. As he was locking the front door, he looked out through a south window and observed the deceased female lying on the sidewalk behind the golf works store.

Mr. K immediately walked over to the female, standing approximately 3 feet away, and yelled, "wake-up." he continued yelling at the female for approximately 30 seconds, although, he was unable to get a response. Mr. K then returned to his store where he called 911. After calling 911, he stood in his doorway watching the female and waited for the fire department to arrive. Approximately 7 to 8 minutes later, the tempe fire department arrtved. He observed four tempe firemen approach the body and conduct a cursory examination. Mr. K then went back to work. Approximately ten minutes later, mr. K was contacted by tempe police officer b, who asked him if he had any information about this deceased female. This was the only information that mr. K related to me."

"ON 04-27-02 AT APPROXIMATELY 0750 HOURS, I NOTICED THAT DET. B WAS ON THE SCENE AND WAS STANDING NEXT TO THE DECEASED BODY. AS I WAS WALKING UP TO DET. B, I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A SINGLE BLACK, SLIP-ON SHOE IN THE PARKING LOT, JUST NORTH OF THE BODY. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A NYLON CD CASE IN THE PARKING LOT NEAR THE SHOE. DET. B AND I THEN CONDUCTED A BODY EXAMINATION ON THE DECEASED. DET. B DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO IDENTIFICATION FOUND WITH THE BODY. I NOTICED THAT THE FEMALE APPEARED TO BE A 17-YeAR-OLD, NATIVE INDIAN OR POSSIBLY A HISPANIC FEMALE. SHE WAS LYING FACE UP ON THE REAR SIDEWALK AREA BEHIND THE GOLF WORKS STORE. HER HEAD WAS IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION AND HER FEET WERE POSITIONED IN A SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION. SHE WAS WEARING BLUE COLORED JEAN PANTS THAT WERE PARTIALLY DOWN (APPROXIMATELY 8 INCHES) ON HER LEFT SIDE, WHICH EXPOSED A PORTION OF HER DARK BLUE UNDERWEAR. I OBSERVED A WHITISH COLORED DRTED STAIN ON THE RIGHT INNER THIGH AREA OF THE PANT, WHICH APPEARED TO BE AN UNKNOWN BODY FLUID. SHE WAS WEARTNG A RED COLORED HALTER-TOP WITH THE RIGHT SIDE PULLED DOWN, EXPOSING HER RIGHT BREAST. SHE WAS WEARING WHITE COLORED SOCKS AND ONE BLACK SLIP-ON SHOE ON HER LEFT FOOT. THE SECOND SHOE WAS LOCATED IN THE PARKING LOT A SHORT DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE DECEASED. BOTH SHOES WERE "LOWER EASTSIDE" BRAND AND THEY WERE BOTH SIZE 6 1/2. I FOUND THAT THERE WERE MEDICAL MONITOR CLIPS ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SlDE CHEST AREA OF THE FEMALE AS WELL AS ON HER LEFT SIDE HIP AREA. THE MONITORS APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN LEFT BY THE TEMPE FIRE DEPARTMENT DURING THEIR INITIAL EXAMINATION. THE DECEASED WAS WEARING PURPLE COLORED FINGERNAIL POLISH."
