Minnesotan with dementia reported missing from Tombstone
***Missing Person***
On 1-16-19 at approximately 0230 Hrs., Thomas Donnelly left his motel room in Tombstone, Arizona, telling his girlfriend that he would ‘be right back’.
Mr. Donnelly got in his Maroon 2016 Ford Taurus bearing Minnesota 786VRN and left the area. His vehicle was last seen leaving the US Border Patrol Checkpoint north on Hwy 80 at approximately 0235 Hrs., according to the US BP agents on duty. Apparently, Mr. Donnelly was asking directions to I-10. Efforts to locate Mr. Donnelly included a local ATL (Attempt to Locate) as well as “Pinging” his cell phone.
Mr. Donnelly has early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, and although he takes proper medication, he sometimes has difficulty with short term memory. Mr. Donnelly is described as a 76 yo male, 5'6", 220 lbs, with grey hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. Mr. Donnelly was wearing khaki pants, a light colored purple shirt and dark green jacket.
With the assistance of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, his temporary address at a Tucson RV park was checked. The cell phone previously “Pinged” had returned to the RV park and when the Pima County Sheriff’s Department checked his RV, the phone was located within, however there was no indication Mr. Donnelly had been there recently.
At this time, Mr. Donnelly’s whereabouts are unknown, however, family members believe he may be trying to drive back to his home town in Minnesota. A Statewide “Silver Alert” has been initiated through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
If you have any information on the location of Mr. Donnelly or his vehicle, please call the Tombstone Marshal’s Office at (520) 457-2244
