TUCSON, Ariz. — Authorities still are trying to identify human remains found in February in a desert area in Tucson.

...

Pima County investigators say the male victim died from obvious signs of trauma and his body was buried two to three years ago.

Obviously #11 Fitzgerald would be Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals, although the Cardinals jersey is red, not blue.

He played college football at Pitt (i.e. Univ of Pittsburgh), and the Pitt Panthers jersey is dark blue. However, Larry Fitzgerald wore a #1 at Pitt.

Whatever the case, it sort of suggests that the UID might have been local (i.e., from Arizona), although you don't have to be from Arizona to be a Cardinals fan or a Larry Fitzgerald fan.

Source: TPDTUCSON (KOLD) - Police hope two items of clothing found with human remains last February will help them get to the bottom of a suspicious death.

Detectives are still trying to identify skeletal remains found February 23 near I-19 and Ajo Way. They were found with a Pro Bowl style Arizona Cardinals "Larry Fitzgerald" jersey, and a pair of "No Boundaries" boots.

Investigators sent the remains to the Pima County Medical Examiner's office, which found the victim was a Hispanic or Caucasian male, approximately 35 to 55 years of age at the time of death, approximately 5'3" to 5'5" tall.

Namus update with new age range (36-57 - seems a weird range to choose, but anyway...). Entry last updated August 2019.

"Circumstance notes" state that DNA exam to be conducted ASAP but no date on the entry.
