Hard to say I read somewhere that the time of death was late last year he could have passed her off to someone or if it is her she could have been there the whole time on the time of death is off. i just wonder because the they said Christopher Payne didn't commit the murder.

They are charging him with first degree murder and child abuse or assult. I wonder where the mother is and where this little girl is from. How far is this town from where Reachelle disappeared? It's a long way isn't it?

I guess it was some jerk dad I hope they find the little boy.

They have tenatively identified the little girl as Ariana Payne. They are looking for her brother Tyler Payne who they believe is 5 year old and they fear he may be a victim of foul play.
Neither child has been seen for several months. Christopher Matthew Payne is the children's father.
Parents are divorced, Payne had custody. Mom not a suspect. Has been a custody battle over the kids. A year ago mother called police to check on their welfare, they were left with Payne.
Payne had previous run-ins with law. Last he was charged with possession of drug para. but he failed to show up to court.

So this guy was the best parent out of the two??? I'd hate to think of what the mother must have been like. Those poor little kids. I hope that they find the little boy and that he is alright. Maybe he is with a relative or somebody.
I wonder if he is registered in kindergarden?

Have they been able to tell how the little girl died? Is the father not talking at all?

Maybe he hadn't been awarded custody yet, but took the children. My BIL took my nephew once and refused to give him back. Cops said that there was nothing my sister could do except take him to court and hope the judge ruled in her favor. Since no custody order was in place, whichever parent had physical custody was the legal custodian.

I read the mom had been awarded custody in 2003 but he had them for some reason the mom called the police to check on them at the end of last year and when they did he showed something that aid he was going for custody so they could not do anything. I know a friend who went through a multistate custody battle and usually the cops only pay attention to what is ordered in the state they are in, even if another state says something different.

Christopher M. Payne, accused of killing his 4-year-old daughter has been placed on suicide watch at Pima County Jail's mental-health unit.
Payne also has a 5-year-old son, Tyler Payne, who is missing under suspicious circumstances.
Sheriff's Bureau Chief Warren Alter said Payne was put on suicide watch shortly after he was booked into jail March 1 on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse in the death of his daughter, Ariana.

Police also are searching for Payne's son, whom they fear has fallen victim to foul play.
Police have not said specifically they believe Tyler is dead.
The night of Payne's arrest, officers began a search of the Los Reales landfill. The search resumed the next morning and was halted later that day without turning up any evidence in the Payne case, police said.
Police would not say if they were looking for Tyler's body.
Police have not publicly called Payne a suspect or a person of interest while they investigate what happened to Tyler.
Detectives have not conclusively identified the dead girl as Ariana, but, while they await the results of forensic tests, they have said they presume the tiny body in the locker to be hers.

Look at his picture - his eyes and the sores on his face scream methamphetamine usage. Why, would any sane person CHOOSE to start taking that drug when it so frequently leads to this sort of behavior. Those poor children. Maybe we need to open orphanages again where children could be placed when their parents don't want them anymore.

This makes me sick because it seems so deliberate. He did not even have custody of these kids so if he was overwhelmed (could not afford them, his girlfriend did not like them, did not want to be dad or WHATEVER) he could have just dropped them off back where they were court ordered to be.

Plus the child he had with his live in girlfriend is healthy...and ALIVE. What are the chances of that, when his two from a previous relationship are the only 2 kids to end up starved and dead in their household? I hope they rot in prison. :furious:

That's what made me so furious SLP. There was a woman in the residence who was a MOTHER herself. How could she just stand by and watch!!! Whatever they give him, she need to get also. The children's mother doesn't seem too bright either. She knew where her kids were, and didn't get them or check on their welfare when she knew the dad was a druggie? All she had to do was show up LE and her custody papers. If that don't work, then hire some big Bubbas for a couple of cases of beer to ride with her to get them. The commotion alone would have gotten LE involved. They would have SEEN the kid's condition.

I couldn't agree more. We need to have orphanages again. Foster care with 4 or 5 different "parents" or more--isn't an option. One group home with consistent care and concern would beat the heck out of what these children face.

This sickens me beyond words. The man's face disgusts me as does the girlfriend who either participated or at the very least did nothing to save the children. I hope he never walks our streets again.

I was like you Sadie in that I had to step back before I dared to reply. This just makes me sick inside.

There's a thread in the missing forum too. They still can not find the little boy. Ariana was found in a storage unit in a plastic tub. It makes me sick.

I wish he will be "man" enough to tell LE what happened to his son. If the child is dead, he deserves a burial. It pains me think this little boy's body is where no one can find him.

Forensic pathologists know what killed Ariana Payne, but Pima County's deputy chief medical examiner would not say today how she died.
The girl's father, Christopher M. Payne, and his girlfriend are in the Pima County jail on murder charges in the death of the girl and her brother, Tyler Payne, 5. His body has not been found.

It is most usually the female (I refuse to call her a mother) who prepares the food for the family and makes sure the children eat. The woman should be charged too.
The fact that she hasn't does make me wonder. Right after they found her body, they 'took the man into custody' and right away began looking in the landfill. Which makes me think that someone is cooperating with the investigation and told LE about the little boy. Possibly the woman?
