I do wonder if this is historical in nature.
That this Doe was already dead for decades could be an option.
 
But, why was this skull turned over to law enforcement if these are historical remains?

Were the other remains ancient, and this child's skull much more recent?

It's possible they were thought to be historical until modern/better technology was able to tell they were more recent.
I think the other remains were probably turned over to LE too but that isn't detailed in the NamUs page.

Side: could a mod update the title to mention the other remains found with them?
