Bad Day for ICA on 5/25/11 - Where were LDB and JA?

JA & LDB were there this morning . . . I didnt think they left the courtroom . .. did they? I think they are allowing Mr. G to do his stuff with the more non-significant players (ie: shot girls, etc) and the only significance that TL had in this whole fiasco was the signficance KC placed on him . . . not him in her life. I so got the feeling he just was not that into her . . . that is why I think it wasn't such a good day for her. Her friends are all moving along in their lives, graduated with degrees, have jobs/lives/families . . . she has people like Maya and Robin and the guard that no longer works there. She doesn't have any family or friends left in her world . . . she has run them all over. Nothing left but death and destruction in her wake . . . what a sad and lonely outlook for Miss KC. Nothing left to look forward to.

From what I saw, they were there all day. They were sitting at their table while Mr. George questioned the witnesses. I'm not sure why anyone would think they were not there.

From what I saw LDB and JA were in the courtroom. Actually FG went over to ask LDB some questions/talk to her when he was questioning Brian B. Not sure why it is being said that LDB and JA were absent from the courtroom.

Thank you for posting this! :)

I saw JA early so I assumed he and LDB were there. I kept wondering WHY they weren't objecting to some things. Now I know. They weren't there! LOL

They were there.

ahh...sigh of relief...I was beginning to think WS posters were starting to believe JB (and therefore ICA). I count on this place to come home to!

Was I in some bizarro parallel universe? It's entirely possible after that drama yesterday. However I saw both LDB and JA frequently in the courtroom today.

JA even went up with Mr. George on a couple of sidebars.

I heard JA also whisper to Mr. George "It's hearsay" while Mr. George was objecting to Baez trying to get Tony to tell ICA's fake molestation story.

Unless I dreamed the whole thing and Bobby Ewing will be in my shower tomorrow morning......?

Wow coastalpilot - I was so busy today trying to watch and keep an eye on the board and deal with DD in real life - I didn't notice that LDB and JA weren't even there.

I saw mention of posters wondering why JA or LDB weren't questioning the witnesses - but didn't realize they weren't even in the courtroom.

Very interesting. MHO - they were behind closed doors tweeking and doing a little re-modeling of their presentation. They are going to blow the drowning theory right outta the pool - and the accusations against GA and LA. Those aren't going to fly either.

The witnesses today were peripheral to the case. It was important to get them on the record but not crucial to the case. FG handled them well, I thought.

Its CA, LA, re-cross on GA and TL, that are very important now and I'm willing to bet that's why they weren't there and that's what they were working on.
BBM

And not at all uncommon for other members of the prosecution team to question such witnesses. Today's testimony seemed to be mainly focused on Casey's demeanor before and after Caylee's death, whether or not they noticed an odor in the car, etc. Not something which would require the lead prosecutors. I don't believe the prosecution is having to do anything reactionary to the defense allegations; they know the truth and their case.

MOO

While LDB and JA didn't question any witnesses (Mr. George did) today, I saw both of them in the courtroom thoughout the day. Both were sitting at the PT table. Granted I saw LDB more than JA but I thought that was just because of the camera's angle.

your right, they were there throughout the day, off and on. I just reviewed my IS tape. they were there, every now and then.

wonder if someone who was there might help?

I still think the point makes sense.

(well, i hope it does anyway).

Haven't read any posts on this thread yet. I didn't think Mr George did badly. He's not as dynamic as LDB or JA but those are mighty big shoes to walk in. Just listened to Bill Schaeffer and Kathi Belich. BS said the defense is building a foundation. When you build a house, you need more than one load of cement and that is what they are doing in their line of questioning. The defense 'theory' will crumble soon (according to BS) as we go along.

I'm not getting the point of this thread.

JA & LDB have given the past 3 years of their lives to this case. There is NO way either of them, much less BOTH of them would have missed Day TWO! They are definitely up to something and I hope Baez is shaking in his boots right now!

I saw LDB and JA there everytime the camera panned toward them.

What am I missing. LDB and JA were there. The entire day that I saw. Did I imagine today or something? :waitasec:

Neither one of them questioned the witnesses. They were quiet today. Why do you think?

From what I saw, which was most parts of the day, both were there.

Other cases and issues may come up, KC is not their only case, even if booked.

Prosecutors have smaller amounts on the table of on going cases than defense attorneys, and if something old or new that is large comes up they will have one of them at the table. They are limited in the amount of prosecutors available for any given time or magnitude of cases. Yes, new cases may be cropping that need the senior prosecutors immediate attention. Or even past ones with the same amount of pressure.

Defense attorneys on the other hand have it bad, they may have - well more than I will disclose, and way more than prosecutors at the same time - and any emergencies will be handled with a few phone calls until this trial is over as it is a Capital Murder case, hopefully. And, for any other clients that the defense had that must have a speedy trial they had to give to another attorney.

Yep, all are busy, all of the time. One case never happens at a time, there is never one case at a time (unless you are as bad as JB, no kidding). Lets go much higher than 2 digits in that counting. Ever had to call a defense attorney's office, wonder why they are not there? They are in Court, defending many, many others. Every day. Several jurisdictions. They do not have 9 to 5 office hours.

Why does anyone think that JA and LB were not there today?

Don't overwork the thought process a couple of days into a many months trial. Worry about the jurors grasping any of it. :)

When the State puts on a case with hundreds of witnesses, the work gets split up. One person is going to question eyewitnesses, anothers specialty is science, anothers is sentencing and doing the opening and closing. etc etc.

I agree about this being the worst day for Casey today especially after Frank George had Tony identify her, and she and Baez had to stand up. That was a priceless moment for me.

I derived some form of sick satisfaction when that happened too, it trumped when Tony first walked in, KC was trying hard not to look at the man of her dreams but just couldn't help herself. I also liked that it seems CM's grandmother chose her shirt today too, which was the icing on teh cake - quite a contrast to the little blue knit dress.

At one stage I am sure she was gazing off in dreamland thinking of the day after Caylee died, spent in bed .... I could almost hear the tune:

Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
