Okay, your toddler has 'gone missing.' Give me plausible reasons for not seeking help from Law Enforcement.

1. Number One reason, of course, would be that you yourself were responsible and do not want them involved.

2. OR the responsible party is a loved one that you want to cover for.

3. OR the responsible party is someone you are frightened of, and so you say nothing.

4. OR, the responsible party convinces you that no harm will come to your child so you can go about your business.

5. OR you do not really care about finding your kid so you ignore the situation and have a good time.

6.OR you are in such a state of shock that you behave in an 'ugly coping' manner and give a false impression of yourself.

7. OR, the famous one, " I was going to handle it myself."

Any other 'plausible' explanations?

I wonder which one Baez will throw out in the first minute of his opening statement.

After watching the In Session interview, I had to post.
JB says that he is going to explain the 31 days in the first minute of his opening statement. Now I have sat here and racked my brain as to what exactly he could say that would have 12 jurors believe him. Trying to be neutral here, I honestly can't think of one thing he could say. Some have mentioned that she was told by the "real" kidnappers not to speak...... I can't believe that a MOTHER would not tell SOMEONE....even if it was her friend (and told the friend that she couldn't go to the police)
What I'm trying to say is, can anyone come up with a reason that would be believable? I just don't think that there is one when you look at her behaviour during that time. And even if there was one, why all the BS and lies once Caylee was reported missing.

I think JB will say that KC was so afraid of CA and GA and what they would do if she lost Caylee that she decide to handle it herself. He will say that she says as much in the interview LE had with her. He will stress that she was so terrified of CA and disappointing her, she faked a job, and had to lie to them. Of course this is all speculation on my part, but what other thing can they come up with? Then of course the ugly coping came in and well that explains the dancing and tattoos. I think they are going to throw GA and CA under the bus and God only knows who for the killing of Caylee..... they have a long list of people they had pointed a finger at, so it is a crap shoot there.

THat is such a lame excuse, that she was 'afraid' to tell her parents. Who isn't afraid to tell them when we mess up. I did not want to tell mine when I totaled their 65 mustang but I couldn't exactly pretend it was in the driveway. I had to deal with it and tell them what happened. And they were not as mad as I thought they were going to be. The jury is not going to give her a pass for that imo.

The problem with this theory is most people would think, "Well, isn't this how she got into this situation in the first place by blaming everyone else." KC has never been made to be responsible, not even with her own child. The A's admit buying everything for Caylee (in one way or another). Any juror sitting in that jury box is there because they have a sense of responsibility or they would not be there. Don't think that will fly either. jmo

The only word that comes to mind is nauseating. I can respect a lawyer saying I will defend my client to the best of my ability, my client is innocent, or something akin to that...but this mornings choked up, holding back tears interview made me sick to my stomach and want to shower.

ITA. In any other profession, such as a doctor, psychiatrist, counselor, etc. that sort of "passion" toward one's client, would be considered unethical and inappropriate. Jose has called it 'passion.' More like an obsession, being overly emotionally involved, MO.

Amen! She's through..there is no reasonable explanation for any of this other than murder.
The jury will hear the "31" days the same as I heard it in 2008, and from that point forward they will draw the same conclusions as the rest of us...she's guilty as sin.

The posts are getting more frequent in regards to KC possibly going with an accident/scared of Cindy defense; We have gone back and forth about how the state would counter that and we all know what the state's case comprises (for the most part)...So, state's case aside:


...Do we really believe JB can get Casey to admit to this in order to save her life?
Once upon a time, we said no way would she ever admit anything remotely close to her being there when Caylee died, so what has changed? Bad experience in jail? Coming to Jesus or Coming of Age?

...Why would they not have asked for a lesser plea earlier, gone to HHJP if they had to, if KC was so ready to admit wrongdoing?

...Does JB believe he can get substantially less time out of a jury that might go with a lesser charge, versus a plea with the state or at the bench if possible and necessary?

My thought is that one could work, and the other....is a fool's gamble.
