Bahamas - Fariba Amani, 47, missing from cruise ship, 29 Feb 2012

179 missing crew/passengers reported from 1995-2011
11.18 per year.:what:

So in a nut shell it happens about once a month on average!!!!

Isn't that amazing. Such crazy numbers. It would seem as though the numbers would support the fact that these ships need cameras everywhere.

I am hoping that Fariba's family is allowed to look at all the footage from the ship. They deserve to be able to see if they can find her or him on the tapes. As it was said above, they know her gait, hair styles, clothes to be able to spot her best.

That should be a legal right, it does not belong to the FBI, but to the company who agreed to give you safe passage and failed to do so. IMO

Either Bahamas did not want to investigate or they feel she was out beyond Bahamas jurisdiction when she disappeared. It's very difficult for the family and hopefully someone from the FBI will contact them soon. It may be harder for them to do that because the family is out of the country.

Has anyone tried to contact Beth Holloway's website? She may be able to give them some assistance in contacting the FBI. jmo

From what I understand, the FBI is working with the RCMP on this and the family is being kept somewhat updated. I'm sure helenbee will correct me if I'm wrong on that.

This just really makes me sad.
I do wonder if this was the first time he has taken this trip.
I am shocked there weren't more cameras on board!

That is the one thing that has bugged me from the very begining.

Yes we are updated by them. I would like to thank everyone on this website for all their opinions and all the information they are posting. This is really helping us and we need to solve this mystery.

The 1,100-passenger cruise ship arrived in Florida Feb. 29 without Amani, but with her possessions and passport still on board

http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/...anxious+over+investigation/6267129/story.html

Just to clear up any earlier misunderstandings..

So has anyone heard about what she was last purported to be wearing that night from the boyfriend? Surely he can give a description of the clothing that she was wearing for dinner and the show? Is there any photos of her that night? Where did the photos that made it online come from if the boyfriend said something to the effect that he couldn't bring himself to look at them or share them or something in between his sobs? *big eyeroll

Have the FBI requested photos from other travellers on board the ship? There must be some pictures of her that night, if even just in the background of other people's photos. And members of the staff had to have seen her if she was on the ship.

You'd think they'd at least publicize the clothing that she was wearing? :waitasec:

Otto, I was looking at the video still in EGirl's post #156. The railings look to be about 5 ft tall, with several horizontal bars. One could climb over or through, but I think accidentally falling overboard would be impossible. JMO.

Thanks. No one could accidentally fall over that railling.

I would think that the FBI would have questioned him reguarding what she was wearing..

And totally agree with your last comment.

It's possible they do not know what she was wearing because he could not tell them. Unless she was wearing his soccer shirt with his favorite team member's name printed across the back I doubt he hardly noticed what she had on. If the FBI asked him, his answer was probably some type of dress. I think the FBI would be publicizing it if for no other reason than for people to come forward who might have seen her. What she was wearing is important for witnesses. Another woman might not remember her face but if she had a dress FA was wearing at home just like it she might remember seeing the dress. I don't think the boyfriend could tell them but it will be interesting for the family to ask that question and hopefully they will get an answer either way. jmo

As a man, I would definatly know what my lady was wearing, I think that the sterotype idea that men do not notice is an old wives tale..

Many men do notice their ladies because their ladies are important to them. It is not just a man thing, it's a personality thing. When you are self absorbed and controlling you to tend to think of things that interest only you. He could be this type of person. If he is, it is possible he did not notice a lot of detail regarding what she had on, or he lied and what he described was in her suitcase so they know she was not wearing it when she disappeared. Whatever the reason the FBI may not feel comfortable releasing information that could be false.

Maybe he told them he was "too emotionally upset" to remember. Lots of possibilities where the FBI could have ruled his information as not being credible. jmo

I also agree
I doubt my man would have NO idea of what I had on

He may not know the details but he would know if I was wearing a dress, pants whatever and the colour

And it's not uncommon for anyone unless you dressed them yourself, such as a child.

It would be interesting to hear of someone who was on the return trip who remembers seeing her. So far we have zero, that we know of. jmo

I do not think that his employment would have any bearing on things, but i would like to hear from maybe previous girlfriends as to his character ect; as Farbina hired a PI to keep tabs on him. Was he a womeniser? did he scare them? did he have a temper?did he lie to them?, cheat on them?..
