I was just recently on a cruise with my
Best friend. We traveled To Italy and were at on a 13story high cruise and at sea
for 8 days! One thing I can say is that there is no possible way you could have
your partner/friend missing for 7-8hrs and not notice it. Also you could easily
find them with in 15minutes that late at night since there are only a few
places they could possibly be at! On a cruise, many restaurants, bars and other
places close after 1 or 2am. The Story is missing something since her BF did
not report her for that many hours... Either she has committed suicide which
that would not also make sense since her bags are missing as well… Or she has
been pushed off the ship which is very possible since there are not as many
cameras on the ship to capture that. When I was on the cruise (international
Navigator of the Sea) a few crew members advised us that its very common for
individuals to commit suicide or go missing but this story is missing a puzzle and
I think that is why the BF is refusing to face the public! Just my few comments
I thought I should share in regards to this sad story! My Prayer goes to her
family! I hope wherever she is, her family can get answers.

good one about the baggage. where is it????

So that's that folks! Another person disappears off of a cruise liner, case closed. The next ship must sail, money and fun to be had of course!

Don't get me wrong, I love to cruise but......

Has their ever been a cruise liner case solved???????

Maybe if the FBI started to treat the ship as a potential crime scene when a passenger goes missing and hold that ship in port you would see those cameras up and running faster than it would take a passenger to unpack. jmo

Thanks. No one could accidentally fall over that railling.

Totally agree. Been on many cruises, I'm 5' 2". No way to accidentally 'fall' over. IMO

My gut feeling here is that she is still on the Island. After reading that anyone could swipe the identity cards through the card reader while boarding the ship, it seems to me that there is no guarantee that she got back onto the ship. Do we know what has been done to search for her at the last place where the ship docked?

If she went overboard, it could not have been because she fell. That means that she was pushed and if she was pushed, but didn't make a sound, there's much more to the story ... was she drugged? For the boyfriend to suggest that they did separate things throughout the evening and he didn't think anything was wrong until 8 the following morning is absurd. I hope that someone is looking into his history prior to them meeting. If there was domestic violence, there has to be a history of it.

I'm a visual person and need to see the area to begin to understand what happened ... so in case anyone else needs visuals, I'm posting some maps here. They are based on Google Earth images.

One question I have is whether anyone has contacted the resort where they stayed and asked the staff to review CCTV footage for verification that Fariba was at the hotel on the morning the ship departed.

I completely agree. I think that any video available on the island needs to be looked at. Any areas that she may have walked by to see if she was caught on video anywhere on the island before they left. Videos get recorded over sometimes as soon as 2 weeks later. I hope that someone has been requesting and looking a videos.

I don't think this was resolved...

IIRC there were two people with personal experience on this particular vessel. One said no way without ID, the other said no problem.

Thank you. If there were two scanners for everyone boarding the ship, then I think it would be possible for Ramiz Golshani (the boyfriend of 8 months that her family had not met) to scan one card at one scanner and another at the other scanner. Does anyone know if there is one scanner and one person checking the IDs, or two? Are the cards picture ID? It just seems to me that if a lot of people are going through the entrance at the same time, there's an awful lot of chance for this to happen.

I think it would be a good idea for the family to contact Beth Twitty's organization and see if they can volunteer any help in terms of how to proceed. I hope that the organization doesn't charge for helping families in this situation and I hope the organization is able to help the international community.

It seems to me that Robyn Gardner's family distanced themselves from Beth's organization because they wanted to keep the investigation out of the media ... and I would tend to agree that media coverage is not really the solution. However, I do think it would be helpful to know what steps to take to make sure all the bases are covered.

If the FBI limited their investigation to the ship, I think that's a big mistake.

In addition to hotel/resort footage, the ship must have a record of which passengers signed up for which activities on the Island. I think that should also be checked and I think it would be a good idea to interview people that participated on those same activities to hopefully give some information on how the couple was getting along and when she was last seen.

What do we know about what the couple did on the last night they were at the resort?

Is it true that her luggage was missing from the ship?

This link is a floor plan animation of each of the floor plans on the ship.

If anyone has the information handy regarding the boyfriend's description of their activities in the last 24 hours before she was reported missing please let me know and I'll map that out as well. Also, have we heard what room number they had?

I believe it was stated that her passport was found with her belongings so I don't think her luggage was missing from the ship but it's possible that it is in the possession of the FBI at the moment and has not been returned to the family.

The boyfriend made a comment that they were sitting at a comedy show and two hours later she was missing. Now since he claims to have left her at the gift shop at 1am, I suppose this is the "missing" time he's referring to. So by deduction, he indicated that they were at the comedy show at 11pm. What we don't know is whether the show began or ended at 11pm.

Also what he has not clarified is what time he supposedly got back to the cabin after going to the casino and Fariba was still not there. Now that should be his real "missing" time.

IMO the FBI would want an accounting of what was in her luggage in case someone comes forward and claims they saw FA in a red cocktail dress at the show Friday night and there's a red cocktail dress included in her belongings. If it's a suspected crime scene I would think they would keep everything of hers. jmo
