Bail paid on all but child neglect charge-why?

I see the point. Baez knows why too, I am sure. Which is why he is not happy.

Lp did say that if she reveals the location of Caylee, he'll bail her out so she can be home while waiting for trial.

"Padilla's offer does not come without stipulation. He will only reinstate the bond after Casey tells investigators where the body of her little girl is and the body is recovered."

BUT if she does that and is charged with Murder 1 because of it, bail will be revoked by the court. They don't give bond to people who are charged with Murder.

I do now...

Us newbies must drive you bonkers....:o

I am a newbie myself, hon. You are fine. I was just trying to help you understand. I like being helpful.

Does anyone actually believe that Casey would take LP up on his offer? IMO, he'd have better odds of placing that 50 grand down in Vegas on my beloved Cubbies winning the world series. :)

IMO Casey will go to her grave never revealing the truth about Caylee, sad but true.

I think there would be bond or bail or whatever the proper term is for those, wouldn't there? It seems there is bond for each charge is what I'm seeing.

Not for murder....

Bail is revoked for anybody charged with a crime that can be punishable by death

Darlin', your explanation totally makes sense--thanks for clearing that up!

Is there any chance they will have to drop the child neglect charges ?

Maybe the big shot lawyer took the case and there is something going on..

One thing I know for sure is that (and especially with the evidence that they have and her admission that she did the wrong thing by not calling police) they won't HAVE to drop anything. Charges are charges. Convictions are different. That is what her day in court is for. Anyone can go press charges against anything. If it is false on purpose, then they can be charged too. Even if she admitted that she killed Caylee now and they charged her with murder 1, they could still leave the child neglect charges. The judge has the option to dismiss them, but I think they are going to keep piling charges on her. After the chloroform yesterday, I am waiting on the "possession of a controlled substance" charges, but tey may hold off or not do them at all, because they want to hold the evidence on it for the disappearance/death charges. I'm hoping not, thoough since they "leaked" it.

Casey Anthony will not appear in court this morning at the Orange County Jail. Overnight, Anthony's bail was paid on all charges, except the child neglect charge that carries a more than $500,000 bond. Because the child neglect charge has not been paid, Anthony will remain behind bars, jail spokesman Allen Moore said.

I don't get it why would someone pay bail for everything but the child neglect? Knowing she couldn't get out of jail. What is the point? Anyone know?

(Speculation) Because those charges (all of them) were a whole lot less. If the Anthony family can get some schmuck to take the $500,000.00 bond then out she goes again (unless murder charges are slapped on her).

I wonder if bail can be paid with cash gift cards? [I'm being ugly, but this case is ugly.] I'm not talking about the Wal-Mart type of gift card, but the Mastercard gift cards and such. You KNOW some people must have donated these kind of cards to the Fam. People give them as gifts nowadays (I've received three in the last year).

It's a totally different bond company. It's a local bond company. They KNOW she ain't getting out on the big charge, in fact they are probably betting bigger charges are soon to follow. They just want to make sure when she is eventually sentenced she doesn't get any time off her sentence for waiting around in jail waiting for a trial. They want her to serve the longest possible time.

My guess is they don't like Anthony's much either.

This is all just MHO.

Thanks, I think I'm beginning to understand it now. :)

If you are bonded on a charge, your time served clock stops. ...............

It's cheap advertising and a way of saying..."yeah, we don't like you either Casey Anthony."

OOoooooh, that is such a good point! So while Casey is sitting in jail, she is not getting credit for time served , at some future time if and when she is sentenced, on the charges which have the bail monies posted. With the bail posted, technically she is no longer being held on those charges and cannot accrue any more credit towards any potential jail sentence on those charges.

I really wonder if JB tried to stop that bonding process since doing it this way is not beneficial to his client who is no longer getting daily credit for time served on all charges.

I'm posting from newbieville where this is my opinion.

That doesn't make much since to me because I have always thought you still have to be present for all court cases even if you are out on bail.

Here, overnight, you can be seen by video hook up

IMO, LP is ridiculous. WHY is he continuing to give her the benefit of the doubt??? she hasn't shown herself to be trustworthy in ANY way. Respect for him is dwindling.

did the Anthonys put up their house as collateral to get that $50,000? that would seem to me to be the only way they could have come up with that kind of money.

I think the guy is okay. I think he also knows a lot more than we do and with her not being a planner and instead being an in the moment kind of girl, she has to know that this is her only chance at freedom...and LP said that he would "reinstate the bond" not that he would pay the new bond on the murder charges. There will be no bond if they seek the death penalty, but if not, there will be nond of some sort, and I am thinking there is no way she will get anyone to bail her out on that.

I would try to get her to fork over the info that way too. She's not staying out and she is so selfish and in the moment, she has to know this is her only chance at even a moments freedom...probably for the rest of her life. Hopefully she will wake up and realize that she has to do the right thing.

I think it sends a strong message. Posting bail for a white collar crime is one thing and is not considered that egregious, especially to bail bondsmen, however; bailing out someone who has done everything possible to thwart justice for her own child..is reprehensible.

remember LP stated last night that if Casey *actually* tells LE where Caylee's body is, he will bail her out again!

So whoever paid the recent bonds may be hoping this is the case...

any mention about the new fraud charges that came out yesterday? Bond may need to still be paid on those too!

Actually listen carefully to what LP said. he did not say he would bail her out. He said that if she leads police to the child body, then they would treat her like any other customer and provide bonding services.

In other words they would put up the $500,000 bond. But LP is not kicking in another $50,000. That has to come from some else such as the family.

Heh. They just said on WFTV that no one bothered to tell Baez the hearing today was cancelled. Apparently he showed up for court this morning.

From your mouth to God's ear.
