Sara was there to say goodbye as David's Australian visa had run out and he was heading back to the UK.

Looks like he's got an extended Bali visa now though ..

Oh god, some wannabe PR person has gotten herself involved and is dispensing bad advice now! http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/sara-conn...ron-bay-media-obsessions-20160821-gqxoeq.html

This is going to end so badly, best thing Sara's friends and family can do is say nothing, and pay whatever bribes her lawyer can arrange. Oh and as a Byron shire resident I can say that most people are simply outraged by the violence of the two accused, and are sitting back saying nothing waiting for the truth to come out, not 'rallying around' as has been claimed.

I think they're both minimizing their involvement, but have to say that Sara holding down the victims neck is not good, the poor guy died. The autopsy could be damning. It's a very upsetting story actually.

Connor was interrogated for nine hours and Taylor for 12 hours on Monday during which, police claim, they retracted earlier confused statements and told a new version for how Wayan Sudarsa came to be found bloodied and dead with 17 head wounds.

Mr Purnomo said that Connor and Taylor were dating on the beach when Connor panicked upon realising her handbag was missing because it contained her licence and ATM card, wallet and money. Seeing the police officer, who was on duty in the area, she asked if he had seen the bag. Taylor then accused the officer of stealing the bag and of being a fake police officer. Mr Purnomo said that Taylor attempted to frisk the officer and offended, the officer pushed Taylor onto the sand. A fight ensued, and police will allege Connor also pushed the officer who also fell down and Connor was bitten by the victim. Connor pulled the officer’s hair and he pulled her hair during the beach tussle.

Mr Purnomo said that Taylor bashed the officer with a mobile phone, yelling at him: “You have stolen the bag, you are a fake police. Where is my bag? Where is my bag? ****** you. Where is my bag? ****** police.” “David found a bottle, he bashed the police with a bottle. David brought the bottle in his left hand then moved it to his right hand, then he bashed the bottle onto the police officer’s head. The bottle broke and then David bashed him again with the broken bottle. That caused many wounds in the head,” Mr Purnomo said. He also used the officer’s own binoculars to bash the victim.

And I suppose both of them were intoxicated? If so this is starting to make sense.

Good grief!!! This cannot be David Taylor's first display of serious violence!

If David said 'F***ing police!' to Wayan Sudarsa as he bashed him to death then he knew he was a policeman.

The ex-husband of Sara Connor, the Australian mother accused of participating in the murder of a Bali policeman, was due to front the media on Wednesday, while she awaits her fate in Indonesia.

However 7 News understands the family has since cancelled the press conference, following advice from the Australian Government.

Well .. It was a stupid idea in the first place!!

A few new details in an article from Daily Mail which is largely a repeat ..

'Mum-of-two left her children to meet up with her boyfriend in Bali'

http://dailym.ai/2bADKvP

I notice a crowdfunding page set up by this marketing / PR / spokesman has disappeared, perhaps shut down because you can't crowd fund a criminal defense?

So, I guess they didn't burn the ID like they said they did.

(Senior Commission Purnomo) said Taylor had admitted to taking the policeman's wallet and phone, and said the couple then cut up the officer's ID and burned it with the clothes they were wearing on the morning of death.

Why would they even take his phone and id cards if they thought he's only unconsciousness and will be alright? I think they both knew full well they had just killed the man.

This case is so strange. I'm guessing if this all happened, that they were effected by more than alcohol. I recall seeing police images of what looked like drugs in seal bags. Can't remember where I saw these images, sorry!

If they were high on ice this case makes total sense. Also it's most likely the policeman was killed to avoid arrest IMO.

Denpasar Police chief Hadi Purnomo yesterday released images of the charred spot, in a housing complex in Jimbaran, where it is alleged that Connor and her boyfriend David Taylor, who lived in New Zealand for a period of time, set fire to the bloody clothes they were wearing on the night of their altercation with the policeman.

He claimed that Taylor had led them to the area last night.

But his (slain police officer, Wayan Sudarsa's) mobile phone, which police say was also taken, has yet to be found.

Police hope to hand Bali murder case to prosecutors within days

Police have 100 days to build the case against the pair but Mr Purnomo indicated he does not believe they will need that long.

Mr Purnomo said the suspects may be returned to the crime scene together, possibly on Monday, for a reconstruction of the morning of the police officer’s death.
