Animals at Naples' Edenlandia zoo can hardly be blamed for Italy's financial crisis, but they could be its latest casualties. Keepers at the already-bankrupt zoo said Monday they're down to their last bananas and bales of hay and have less than 48 hours' worth of food remaining for the exotic creatures — meaning its 300 elephants, giraffes, tigers and other animals could starve to death.

Why in the heck have they waited so long and done nothing to ensure a continuing food supply for these animals or a new home. Just makes no sense. :furious:

Zoos...circuses...

I'll never be the same after seeing the tiny baby elephant falling in line at that major circus over 20 years ago...so sad. These animals are meant to be free, IMO (and yeah, all that that means).
