barbara mackle ransom note discredits some RDI RN pet theories

The knife movement from the cupboard in one room to the countertop in another, if true, needs an explanation. Since a knife was needed for the cord, its possible the knife was used starting upstairs (cord fiber found in the bed) and left it on a countertop in the basement. The perp also left other items: the pen in the holder, pineapple in the kitchen, and broken paintbrush fragment in the tote.

Somehow this doesn't seem that remarkable.

RDI is however claiming the knife was 'hidden' from an intruder, similarly to claiming the blanket would be unavailable to an intruder. The idea that only JR or PR knew about the knife or the blanket is irrelevant. Anybody can open a cupboard or a dryer and thats all it would take. Go ahead and picture three intruders, and several hours of uninterrupted access to the house. Almost anything would be possible. Not too many secrets left.

Sorry, no offense holdon...but...

So, yet ANOTHER thing that the intruder didn't bring with him. Hmmmm He brought the cord...according to IDI...but, OOPS...forgot to bring something to cut it with.
Okay, the intruder was in the house for several hours, and he was in the kitchen area where the flashlight was kept, so he grabs the flashlight, but not a kitchen knife? Heck..he was in there cutting up pineapple for JB to eat (so that she wouldn't starve on her way out of the country to be married off...this is YOUR theory, remember? Why not just take the knife with him that he used to cut the pineapple with, or if not that one...another one. EVERYBODY keeps knives in the kitchen, right?? So, NOOOO...he decides to rummage through a cabinet outside of JB's room...and viola...theres Burkes knife, in the very place that LHP put it. HOW CONVENIENT. If he is not there to steal anything...and goodess knows...the Rams were millionaires...there was plenty to steal....why in the world would he want to rummage through someones cabinet...much less their clothes dryer? Nothing was stolen...remember?) The IDI theory makes less and less sense...everyday.

I will agree with you on one thing though...I believe that it is entirely possible that the knife WAS used starting upstairs...but, not by some invisible intruder. Now THAT is where we will have to agree to disagree.

Oh no. And I was sooo hoping I'd convinced you of IDI on that last post:doh:

We don't know that.

Yes we do.

If it was in fact an intruder, then of course they had access to the house. If they had access to the house, then they would've had to enter the house at some time or another. Unless you believe in telekinesis.

What you're saying is we dont know that they entered the house after the R's went to bed, before the R's went to the Whites, while the R's were awake and downstairs (not likely), or heck, even the day before.

We do know intruders would've had access. The amount of access could range from a couple of hours to many many hours. Thats why we really know very little about the motive or methods, because the list of what could happen in that time frame is large.

What we don't know is if the pocket knife was even involved in the crime. Thats what we don't know. Just because it was found on a surface down the hall from JBR, and not where LP claims to have left it, doesn't automatically place it in the crime.

The knife isn't that significant because it isn't the murder weapon and isn't officially linked to the crime.

RDI is claiming to know more about the knife than they really do.

LOL! Unless there is some bombshell out there, that hasn't been dropped yet...then it's never going to happen. I want you to know though...that I hope and pray that I am wrong. And when and if that day comes....I will buy you a drink, and say..."Holdon...by golly...you were right all along". If I had a wish that could come true...I would wish that JB had never died. BUT..since she did...I hope and I pray...that the last people or person that she saw was NOT her mama and/or daddy. But.. the last thing that little Caylee Anthony saw was her own mother...I believe in my heart..that JB did the same.

All this RDI is claiming...is that Burke's pocket knife was found near JB's body. LHP had previously taken it away from him and hid it...he was whittling in the house. She stated that she had never seen him with it AFTER she had taken it away from him. BUT...viola...there it is, near JB's body. A theory that is floating around out there...is that it was used to cut the cord with, that bound JB's hands, and made the garotte. I wasn't there...(unfortunately...because the case would have been closed a long time ago, if I had of been)....so I have no clue what the knife was used for. Maybe it was just a coincidence that the knife..that had been hidden....was found near JB's body. But, I don't believe in coincidences.
It is just way too weird to ignore, holdon. You can't just throw your hands up and go "Oh well....SOOOO what Burke's knife that had been hidden from him, was found near JB's body, that means nothing". It has to have meant SOMETHING or it wouldn't have been there in the first place. Now...if it had of been found on another floor ...or something. THEN that wouldn't be a big deal.

I wouldn't pay so much attention to the knife, but how many coincidences like this one are there in this case?
Wayyyyyyyyyy too many IMO.

Well, exactly! It's just another piece to the puzzle...that when finished...is a picture of J and P.
