Yes, by all accounts here in belize, that is one of the worse prisons you'd ever want to be in..

Yes Faye always had the very short hair , and yes I've interacted with the family
As far as statistics about the prison, offhand I don't have statistics, what I have are stories of people who've been there and that the worse thing that people here in belize think that AD and DD deserve is to be sent to hattieville (now kolbe ) and the key thrown away .
Thsnk you for the welcome
I'm sry too tired to write more this evening .. this has been a nightmare :(

Why did the government agency in Hawaii not help these children when their abuse was reported by their neighbors? This is a crime in itself. Now there's a dead child. How long would this have gone on? I hope the adopted father is checked out too. I mean he must have known what she was like.
I'm quite sure no child abuse was reported in Hawaii. Cara Barber and her husband obtained a restraining order against DD and AD, alleging harassment, cause and details unknown. Now the woman has spoken to the media, commenting on what she remembers about the children. But the legal issue was between the adults. http://edition.channel5belize.com/archives/149407

You can look up the case here http://www.courts.state.hi.us/legal_references/records/hoohiki_disclaimer, which is probably what someone in the media did, and then contacted them. Then they slapped a Belizian shock and horror headline on her statements. Having been on a condo board, I know the level of hostility neighbours are capable of, so I give this very little credence.

I'm confused if you are saying that Faye is the sister with the very short hair who dresses like a boy. When I compare that sister in FB photos she looks nothing like the picture of Faye on news programs and posters. Her features are not the same at all IMO.

Thanks again Mcaar.
I guess the photo in the news is very old. It looks like it is a passport photo or a school photo. The only photos of the 2 middle girls on the FB page are generally from August/Sept 2015, a very specific time period. It's troubling for me to find out that Faye is the one with the very short hair, as the other girl looks like a sad ghost in the photos. I am very worried for what these children have gone through.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm so sorry that this has hit close to you. It must be difficult. It's difficult even for us who have no connection or personal knowledge of the situation.

Do you know when the last time Faye was seen by anyone outside the immediate family?
Do you know how the other girls are doing? They must be so traumatized. Hopefully they can be near people that care for them; who will be sensitive to their needs.

You're probably right then. I've not looked at the photos here close enough. But because I was told Faye liked her hair short always and went to the barber .... I'll step back a bit. This has been very sad,
thanks

I'm sry if I misidentified (?)..but Faye always had very hair short .. the other middle girl had like a short choppy (not in a stylish way)bob.
I haven't seen Faye or other middle girl in a long while though, only seeing the youngest and eldest , who showed no signs of "physical" abuse ..
I wish I knew how the girls were doing. And I wish I knew more about their adoptive father who is in belize now
There's a lot of questions . I'm trying to find out how often he really came to belize to visit .

No need to step back, Mcaar. We appreciate your input and I can't imagine how hard this must be for anyone who has ever interacted with the family. Hugs! :heartbeat:

I'm sorry if I sounded like I was arguing with you. I'm always happy to be corrected (the goal is just to know who is who for sure) but the photos confused me because of facial features. If the sad looking girl with the choppy hair is Faye, what you were told about her liking it short (perhaps compared to two of the others) and going to a barber could certainly apply to her too.

Does anyone know if Faye is the next to youngest or next to oldest? The bigger girl with the very short hair appears to be next to the oldest, although size can be deceiving. The oldest is 16 (calculating from a FB post about her turning 15 in late 2015).

Sorry that you are feeling sad about this whole distressing situation, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your posts.

I wondered above if Faye was the second oldest or second youngest. This article linked below says she is second oldest. If so, she seemed very tiny compared to the sister with very short hair who dresses like a boy. And I'm still having trouble connecting the facial features of the girl shown as Faye on news programs (even if it's an old photo) with the girl with very short hair (her droopy left eyelid and shape of lips and eyes don't match the bigger girl, but match the smaller girl IMO). Of course, a smaller girl can be older than a bigger girl so Faye could be second oldest...or the article could be wrong.

Hi. Faye is second youngest ,or at least I know she was the third child adopted . Because the mother always said Faye liked her hair super short, cut by barber, when you'd see them always one girls hair was considerably shorter than the others (and often dressed in boy's style) .. this is where the confusion was on our part here when hearing it was Faye who was dead ..
anyway they have a bail hearing Friday in Belize City

Macaar, thanks for joining us. I'm very sorry about Faye and I know how shocking this can be (I've been there in real life, many of us at websleuths have).

Did you ever see the girls working in the store? Would you say that there was alot of paternal affection shown towards them?

Am I the only one who can't see the pics? I'm seeing grey 'do not enter' traffic signs instead.

So just following up....can ANYONE see the images I posted? (Of course I can see them. ;) )

Hi. The girls were never seen working at the store .
Never saw paternal affection from stepfather, appropriate or inappropriate .
There are people organizing boats to go to belize city from San Pedro where AD and family lived and had their store and they've gotten an "assembly permit" for tomorrow to be there for the bail hearing to show solidarity in wanting justice for Faye (and in the chance they get bail to monitor them)

Well that's excellent, thank-you to all the peaceful protesters standing vigil to see justice through for poor Faye.

We will be with you in spirit, if not in person.

I love how the San Pedroans (San Pedrans?) are out there representing Faye. Good stuff.

What does it say that they were on the protests very quickly after it was announced that Faye had been murdered. It was like a giant, "I knew it!!!".
