Belize - Faye Lin Cannon, 13, brutally slain, San Pedro, 3 July 2017 *American parents arrested*

I think I agree with the prosecution here in that the Doehm's are definitely a flight risk. They are both from Germany, or at least DD has/had family there also. No one will employ either of them, their store was already having trouble and will likely really fail after the publicity of this case. If custody of the remaining 3 girls is given to the adoptive father, they will lose his child support which was sustaining them, and then some. What could possibly make them not try to flee Belize? Do they both hold German passports?

As far as I know no MSM has noted whether or not Anke is still a German citizen, or whether David is at all. It's possible one or both of them hold a German passport, but it's equally possible they don't. We just don't know.

Tapatalk is being problematic for me so logging in the website.
I'm shocked she hasn't just removed her FB speaks volumes to me. She still needs to be the "star"

Quoting myself because I can't edit - with that said, I agree with your post, Kamille. Just making that clear. ;)

I believe DD is from both North Carolina and South Carolina, where I think he was born. She could have a German passport. What makes me upset, IMO is they were living off the children's money from the adoptive father, David Cannon. Wonder if he remarried? They need a stable family environment.

DD posted on a quora forum about his grandmother in Germany. So he could be considered a dual citizen if either of his parents were born there and hold a German and a US passport. We know AD was born in Germany so she would definitely hold dual citizenships and passports.

They were also apparently permanent residents in Belize and were in the process of applying for citizenship there.

Question though...if they were able to make it to Mexico, would they be able to obtain German passports at the embassy in Mexico City? And then would they be able to use those passports to fly to Germany? Would Germany extradite them back to Belize based on the vague information and charges that seem to be in place at the moment?

Good question, but why are they not being charged and held for Faye's death dying from abuse and extreme neglect while in their custody? How could any country let this go? I know the US would not. You see charges against parents for these kinds of things all the time.

Anke was seen an hour ago getting off the water taxi in San Pedro, wth! Really surprised she is safe there! And how was she able to afford to post bail but he wasn't?

David didn't post bail? (I know he had trouble paying his small fine earlier, but hadn't heard what happened with the bail.)

I wouldn't be surprised if AD's mother or brother provided the bail money for AD. They wouldn't necessarily be as keen to do that for DD if they believe he was the main culprit.

Welcome angiebubs :welcome:

Are you in Belize? Do you know for a fact that DD did not post bail? I would find that very interesting considering all the income and the business seems to be in AD's name. Maybe she's throwing him under the bus right out of the gate? Distancing herself from him and blaming him for everything so refusing to post his bail?

Good thinking Snoopster. Perhaps she did receive help from family and he did not.

Germany only allows dual citizenship in certain situations though when you voluntarily acquire citizenship of another country (in Anke's case, the US). She may have had to relinquish her German citizenship. So I personally wouldn't say with 100% certainty that she has dual citizenship.
See: http://www.mexiko.diplo.de/Vertretu...ar/Nacionalidad/1__nacionalidad__alemana.html

But, lets assume she is - this should answer the passport question: "German passport and visa from German Embassy in Mexico City are issued only to citizens whose main residence is in Germany and Mexico."http://www.embassy-worldwide.com/embassy/embassy-of-germany-in-mexico-city-mexico/

However she may have a valid German passport already. She posted several times about visiting her family in Germany over the past few years. German passports are valid for six years. IMO she would be able to use it to fly to Germany... but that's MOO. Couldn't find much about it. Also not sure about extradition.

ETA also - if she was still a German citizen when she adopted the girls, they would also be eligible for German passports. I'll see if I can find that link again.

ETA again - well that was quick. lol http://www.passportia.org/citizenship/germany/adopted-child/

Hello! No I'm not in Belize but following this closely (we will be there mid August.) Saw the articles/video s posted (AmbegrisToday) showing her in San Pedro and they mentioned he hasn't posted bail which is odd.

Welcome! Here are the links from the Ambergris Today FB page. It's very disturbing IMO. The locals are over the top. Comments are vicious.

The video won't link so scroll down to find it, but it's about three minutes of Anke walking and being followed by people (especially one woman) yelling that she is a murderer and they don't want her there.
