Oh thanks. That's a lot clearer. Also has pictures... It's not the daughter. Phew.

I think that's possibly someone who works with her lawyer. Just a guess.

So it appears that by all accounts, DD did not make bail. Hmm...

Welcome! Here are the links from the Ambergris Today FB page. It's very disturbing IMO. The locals are over the top. Comments are vicious.

https://www.facebook.com/ambergristoday/posts/1723151761063560

The video won't link so scroll down to find it, but it's about three minutes of Anke walking and being followed by people (especially one woman) yelling that she is a murderer and they don't want her there.

https://www.facebook.com/ambergristoday/

Definitely over the top! We're all upset about what we believe happened and what kind of mother we believe she is, but let the law deal with it! That's what it's there for. That's what civilized societies do. The only good thing is that there didn't seem to be any physical threats.

Some people in the comments section implied that she ruined the island. I don't think that's the case. It's a terrible, horrible human story, but it won't affect the island's economy or image. (Unethical real estate promoters, or criminals who hurt tourists are much more likely to hurt the image of San Pedro. Or residents screaming and yelling "murderer" at someone and following them, might throw some people off.)

I hope the vigilantism tones down.

The people following her and commenting on FB are revealing themselves as uncivilized IMO. They are running totally on emotion and not open to rational discussion, shooting down the one or two people who try. I honestly fear for AD's safety. The suggestion to burn down her house is certainly a physical threat and could incite someone to take the law into their own hands. It's clear from FB that those commenting have no confidence in the legal system and that's a very dangerous attitude that I see more and more, even in the U.S. That attitude can be taken advantage of by those with an agenda (anti-foreigners living in Belize?) and can lead to mindless mob violence and anarchy. I get the outrage up to a point, but the people are hysterically taking on the role of prosecutor, judge and jury and that's just plain wrong. Two wrongs do not make anything right, ever.

Anyone know what it means by "one land surety"? Does this mean that only one of them were able to use the land surety?

The Doehms were given a bail of $10,000 each, one land surety, instructed not to interfere with any prosecution witnesses, and starting on Monday, July 31st they must sign in every Monday to the Belize Police Station on Raccoon Street. They also were given additional conditions, in which their passports will be surrendered to the Embassy of the United States of America (USA), and USA officials will be notified that the Doehms are not allowed to leave Belize, nor will any temporary passport or permit be issued until the case is concluded.

And IMO, one of the differences between the US and Belize with regards to this kind of vigilantism is that in the US, AD would likely have been escorted by LE safely to her home if it was believed there would be a gang of people there to harass and threaten her. And considering that people in Belize need LE permission just to launch a peaceful protest, I can't believe that what these people did would be considered particularly lawful? :waitasec:

Then again, I do remember people standing on the street and protesting in front of Casey Anthony's home during that whole pre arrest/bail debacle and inciting reactions from her parents. So perhaps AD can't expect much peace from locals shouting words at her as long as they are not threats to harm her physically? :dunno:

But if they are worried about her fleeing the country before her trial, doing stuff like that will surely make her consider it necessary. And the threats on the pages of the news publisher's facebook accounts under this story are very over the top IMO. The editors and/or staff should be monitoring and deleting those posts. Or closing comments altogether.

Where is she going? Wtf! Thank-God there is some coverage of this and the locals are on her. This is pretty brutal

As someone suggested earlier, she likely had legal counsel with her and she was probably only going to the island to pick up provisions so that she can stay on the mainland to be close to the police station that she has to report to and to her husband who is apparently still in remand at the prison.

AD has to check in at Raccoon Street police station in Belize City every Monday and, let's face it, San Pedro isn't exactly welcoming, so no doubt she went home to pick up a few essentials (like clothes) and is heading back to Belize City.

I speculated previously that the woman with her works for her legal team's office.

I agree with you Snoopster. And if AD's family is willing to pay money for her bail and her attorney, she's probably going to be staying with someone from their office in Belize City.

I'd like to know where DC is at the moment, what is happening with the other girls and who is fostering them and whether it is in fact him who is helping AD financially. I'd really like to know more about their relationship and what happened that split them up. And whether DC is still carrying a torch for his ex.

She doesn't have to start checking in at the police station until Monday July 31, but I imagine she wanted to get her clothing and her personal items quickly and go back to the mainland. It would be much easier to consult with her attorney there and visit DD if she's inclined to do so. And I imagine it would be safer.

Agree-I haven't found any information regarding DC; how long since he's seen his girls, where is he now, did he have concerns previously? I saw someone comment in a post somewhere, that at some point all 3 adults lived together in Hawaii-can't find it now...

Oh no! Wonder if he was there when the neighbors reported them? This is very scary.

To clarify, this was just a "comment" someone had made on a post, nothing factual. I can't seem to find much on DC

She looks so healthy and walks like a model. It makes me sick. If David Cannon has a half of brain, he would take those 3 girls and leave with them ASAP.

I imagine he's jumping through legal hoops to make that happen. They are likely in state custody and he can't just take them and leave, unfortunately.

I understand that. I'm hoping since he's their father, he doesn't have too many problems with this and it goes smoothly, I hope.
