No foul play found in autopsy. Cause of death from fall per pathologist.

Investigation is ongoing. Nothing to indicate he was pushed.

Working on getting forensic information from his cell phone.

Toxicology will be performed. No timeline on the tests as of now, but the tests will be expedited by the FBI if needed.

His brothers were present when he was found. His family was not with him at the bar.

Sounds like a unfortunate and tragic accident. My thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and teammates.

One theory that is going around here in Bermuda.

I really doubt that theory, that he was looking for his base and forgot what it was called and was completely mislead by his gps to go crashing through heavy woods in the night. Unless he was really a complete dolt.

For one thing, he'd have this link about the base, supplied to everyone attending the rugby tournament, with links to maps, transit info, etc. http://www.urugby.com/warwick-camp-barracks-bermuda

Secondly, he'd been on the island several days and would know he travelled by bus or cab along South Road to the tournament site and the pub, rather than walked there after dinner.

Thirdly, police reported he'd gone on a walk around Warwick camp the previous evening/night, so he was quite capable of using maps to navigate after dark, and getting back home.

I think he had a plan to get in and explore the site, because he liked to do that kind of thing (going out alone exploring at night). He didn't do it earlier in the evening, perhaps because some kind of transport was scheduled to pick them up and he'd be missed and a search party sent out.

He apparently left the pub about midnight, and but was captured by nearby surveillance over an hour later. What happened during that hour? Did he check into the base and then come back? That info is missing.

The lighting probably wasn't too good in the area he was at. Besides the moon and stars I wonder how dark it was?

Maybe he was simply drunk while overlooking the cliff and lost his footing?

I don't think he knew it was there and tried to walk over it. Not necessarily drunk (reports are he drank very little)

For eg, where I lived there's a steep embankment below the highway. A hitch-hiker got dropped off there and quickly climbed over the concrete divider into empty space. He just assumed it was level on the other side.

It seems from the reanactment linked above, he'd have walked between two fancy looking houses on a very quiet residential street, through their private yard into woods, and hopped their back fence. In the pitch dark.

You make really good points. It will just never makes sense to me. It’s truly a mystery.

I’ve lived in Bermuda my entire life. An aunt used to live on Alexandra road that I used to visit frequently and I’ve never heard of fort prospect until this incident. Apparently it’s only well known to those who have always lived in the area.

I just dont understand why he would be on Alexandra Road period. Maybe he did like to explore. I don’t know. It just makes no sense at all.

I don’t think we’ll ever know what happened between 12 and 1 am and 1 am and 4pm the next day when they found him.

I’m pretty sure it was a new moon. A new moon is the darkest.

In a way I am glad Marc was not a victim of foul play; still a very tragic ending. He was walking in unfamiliar area late at night in an unlit area by himself.

RIP

It’s still an ongoing investigation at this time. In time I think it’s going to change and evidence will come out to be foul play.
IMOO!

Sadly I agree with you. I’m Bermudian and I really don’t feel like it was an accident.
