Sadly I agree with you. I’m Bermudian and I really don’t feel like it was an accident.

Oh no, what do you think happened?

I think I understand what you’re getting at but I don’t believe Mark’s death has anything to do with Bermuda’s gangs. Gangs here seem to only target each other. It’s really just back and forth between them. They don’t even bother locals that have nothing to do with them so I don’t see them targeting a tourist.

Tourist aren’t really bothered here period unless it’s bag snatching off of a moped by silly teenagers or chain snatching again most likely by bored teenagers.

If tourist are targeted by anyone, it is almost always going to be non violent. There are RARELY violent crimes against tourists here.

Honestly, I don’t know. Like I said before, it’s a mystery to me. I can’t even come up with a theory.

It just doesn’t make sense to me how he would end up at Fort Prospect on his own doing when locals (unless you grew up in the area) don’t even know about it.

It was said that he took a walk the night before. Did he take walks nights back at home where it would make sense that he would do it on “vacation” because it was a regular thing? Maybe he was meeting up with someone that he met here when he was walking?

I’m not big on conspiracies but it just doesn’t make sense why he or any tourist would go there. If he wanted to explore a fort or something it would make sense for him to explore Fort Hamilton. At least that’s advertised to tourists and it’s closer to the bar he was at than Fort Prospect.

And if he was lost and trying to get back home, wouldn’t you turn around and try another way rather than go through bushes and around fences?

I dont know. I believe he died from a fall. How he came to fall and why he was at that location is what is a mystery to me.

I think when toxicology comes back it'll show a BAC of way higher than they think. Some guys don't get 'stumbling drunk' but they still are intoxicated. I think this will turn out to be an accident caused by excessive alcohol consumption.

And, if he had his phone with him, "help" was just a call away. If he set off on his own for a nighttime adventure in a foreign land, was this characteristic? Even if it was his choice to venture "off the beaten path," I would expect he'd call one of his teammates after a period of time and ask for help. I've been lost before, in the years before cell phones, become frustrated and frazzled, and found myself believing/hoping that "it's just over this hill." It's the worst kind of tunnel vision, because while you're focused ahead, searching for any sort of familiar landmark, you're not paying attention to the terrain at your feet.

IMO

I wonder if he’d been given medication for his shoulder injury and then had a drink or two at the bar. His Mother said he didn’t look like he was enjoying himself. I just wonder if the pain got worse, he was affected by a mix of a prescription and alcohol, and exhausted. Maybe he was upset with his friends and wouldn’t call them when he found himself disoriented. Instead, he just kept walking....

Seems very plausible to me. Young men of that age can be very stubborn and believe they can find anything and get out of anything. That video linked on the previous page makes it very clear how very dark and confusing it was.

Also, how did his brothers find him? WAs it the last surveillance video, dogs, cell phone pings? Sorry if I missed this in an article.

If it was foul play, surely his phone would have been taken...

Inquest Into Mark Dombroski's Death Concludes
“There was no pathological evidence that anyone else was involved in this young man’s death.”

This was from Christopher Milroy, a pathologist who was brought in to examine the body of St Joseph’s rugby player Mark Dombroski.

He added in his written testimony that his death was caused from falling down a 35-foot cliff and fracturing his skull. Other injuries included a fractured left wrist and left femur and contusion damage to the lungs.
