Big storm in California?

Hope all the "westerners" are high and dry now. Here in VA I heard a news anchor state the other day that this November will go down in the history books as the dryest one in 100 years in our state. We are in desperate need for rain. The grass actually crunches under your feet when walking across our lawn. We did not even get anything from the hurricane Sandy here in our neck of the woods. Wish we could all get together in the middle of the country and "dibby up" our weather so we could all get something we need and not so much what we don't need! LOL

I have always wanted to quote myself!! But in this instance I have to disagree with what I said. I was wrong. It was a gnarly storm last night with howling wind (like the So Cal Santa Anas) and crazy heavy rain.

Because I am a dreamer, I started thinking about how safe and secure my modern little house is and how it must be keeping most of the noise out. Or course, that led me to think about what it would have been like, oh, 120 ish years ago- living in a house without fancy double paned windows and modern insulation, heat, etc. Boy, would that storm have been LOUD and scary!

Of course, I woke up and it is beautiful and sunny here. Sure, there are bogs were my lawn used to be- but hey, maybe that will stunt weed growth or something.

I Love it ... A poster is respectfully disagreeing with him/herself!

:laughcry:

I am so sorry about the drought in VA... I live in SoCal... So we have to get used to it... But I always think of VA being beautiful and green...

And...I was thinking the same thing...I wish there were some way for all the states to "spread the wealth" ... So to speak!

Everything is bright and cheerful here. Which means my war with the weeds is back on strong. Really, I don't know why we as a society chose to have lawns.
