Here's a link to the application form to obtain a MO Private Investigator license but it doesn't say how long it takes to review it and if qualified how long the process takes. It doesn't seem to happen over night though. I wonder how tough MO would be on this guy?

Area licensed private investigators say they have filed a complaint with the state licensing board since Stanton is not licensed to work in Missouri.

"We want our industry to have credibility. If we were somewhere with someone who questions our credentials, we want to be able to pull out our license and say 'Hey I'm a license private investigator. We have had our FBI background checks.'," said Ron Rugen, a Missouri private investigator.

It is unclear who hired Stanton and whether he is receiving payment for the investigation.

I just got home and I am trying to catch up so forgive me if this was already asked. Wouldnt have been in the best interest of the parents to hire a PI that was unknown and licensed in their area instead of one thats face is known and cannot even ask a question? Why call him a PI then, how about just a PR person. I am not quite sure who this family is taking advice from but they need to get a lawyer and fast. Forgive me for saying this please (I so believe in Karma but I dont care at this point), I really think one or both parents are involved in this disappearance, BUT seeing now how damn stupid they are I am not quite sure they could have pulled this off now. I am more confused now then ever.

This PI is not hired by the family. They are not paying him.
That could be the reason why the family went with this PI since they don't have to pay him and he seems to like publicity a lot.

JMOO but I think he inserted himself into this case, showed up on the families doorstep, and said "I am here to help you, blah, blah,blah...and the key words..FOR FREE"

I remember all these opportunistic people that inserted themselves into the Anthony case, and unfortunately some of them were courted by MSM right up until the end. They were seen in gossip rags, magazines, you name it.

The poor families don't have any experience with losing a child, and in their desperation they often let these folks take over.

MSM pays for it, because it brings money to them through viewers wanting any information they can get on the case.

MOO

I think the family is getting used by a certain media and are to naive to realize it. Of course they think they are right because they are told "we have the experience, this PI will really help, he has helped others and even celebrities use him he is so good" blah blah. Even the exclusive imo is due to their naivete

Feel sorry for them.

Yep. My take is, Stanton rode on a white horse and said I'll help you out. The family is naive, as you say, and this is going to turn into anything BUT a search for Lisa Irwin.

I don't feel sorry for the family. Did anyone hold up pics of Lisa to the cameras last night? Is there an urgency among any of these family members to physically search for Lisa? :rage:

Yeah but he cant investigate anything because he isnt licensed in MO. So he really isnt a PI to them. He is more of a PR person then. I still say they need a lawyer. BAEZ... MASON... Where are you ???
