bill stanton~independent investigator hired by anonymous man and woman benefactors

But how is *this* guy going to help? He can't actually investigate and I can't see any member of LE sharing information with some guy that is planning and announcing PC's on day one of his involvement. These parents need a good lawyer (possibly one for each of them) not a ringmaster.

Look at the amount of press this guy is generating; every press blurb brings Lisa's name to the forefront. True people think the 'circus' is tacky, dumb, ____ [fill in the blank ] but they still buy tickets.

True they need a good lawyer and there are any number of them in KCMO, who has come forward to help them? This family doesn't have money, someone has to help them. I guess they're not looking the 'proverbial gift horse' in the mouth. How many KCMO PI's will now step forward?

In election day parlance there is a thing called 'street money'; frowned upon but still done. In this case there is a TIPS hotline, $1k reward. If Stanton comes in with offers of 5 times that for a tip, he can do that. He has the deep pockets of a network and just may generate leads. This means walking the streets and going in places where peeps won't talk to LE but may talk to him. If he gets one solid lead out of $100k worth of effort that may bring Lisa home.

I personally don't care if he stands in front of The Argosy Casino, whistles Dixie and shoots wooden nickels out of his butt, if he can get the job done or at least try then that is better than doing nothing.

LISA IS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE; SOMEONE HAS TO FIND HER.

Analogy: Think about Mary Magdalene and what she accomplished.

IMHO

This appears to be the MO regulation regarding the licensing of PI's.

http://pr.mo.gov/pi-statutes.asp

Some interesting info. There is a section permitting reciprocal arrangements (one state may recognize a PI licensed in another state), but so far I don't see anything carrying that through.

Just FYI.

So if family makes a media deal with one network and network hires Wild Bill and he says he is spokesperson for family=Does Network now own and control family?

For Stanton, being a private detective is a full-time, scenery-chewing, perception-building, high-octane performance -- from the sophisticated weaponry to the all-black Matrix-like outfit to the buffed-up body to the late-night escapades -- and it's a role he was clearly meant to play.

?
snippety-snip

Oh, when this guy finally wears his all-black Matrix-like outfit, you'll all be singing a different tune, believe me.

(Sorry, couldn't resist, lol.)

Yes, I know that. I was one of the first people to point out who and what he is immediately after he surfaced last night. I was referring to the suggestion, above, that perhaps local, properly licensed PI's should be stepping up to help the family. My comment was meant to say that most such people probably cannot afford to work for free (and this family obviously is not wealthy).

I'm sorry, I took your post in the wrong context. I do hope that a reputable lawyer and PI will step up to help them. I'm not sure they are innoncent anymore but Baby Lisa needs her name out there but she doesn't deserve the 3 ring circus this is becoming.

Someone mentioned People Magazine covering this earlier, they have an article up now with the heading " Baby Lisa: Another Casey Anthony?"

He's hired by the media, isn't he? That's his employer, it seems, he took the call from. That's exactly what I think he's there for - to report to the media anything he finds that's newsworthy, and he's doing that with the blessings of the family.

Brilliant.

Sounds like he is battering them up. Considering they haven't named a single person of interest and all the leads have apparently gone to nowhere.

Whats this guys track record? How many lives has he saved?
Could he have a "team" of other investigators working with/for him? (licensed in MO, of course)

Well, you can google his name for more specifics but he's served as a reporter for major news networks apparently, and he's not some kind of slimy snake in the grass self-promoter, from what I understand. He goes and investigates when he's paid to do so, and does it with social graces. He is a former NY PD officer.

Likely none, but he is "watching your back".

'Stanton said he would hold a news conference on Thursday to offer new information in the case, including more information about who hired him.'

Just heard he'll be on CNN in a few minutes. This should be interesting, maybe.
