“My outlook has already been changed on lots of things. I’ve found out that I am very naive and trusting in people. This has changed my outlook on everything. If she walked through the door, it would absolutely be the best moment in my life and nothing else would matter.”

Re: the bolded part, IMO statements like this usually imply that now they know better and do not trust certain people any more. Who does Billie refer to? It does not appear to be that she's lost her trust in Shawn if she's still hoping for a future with him.

IMO Billie's statement about being naive and trusting is not about Hailey or her disappearance.

It's about something to do with Billie. Someone she thought she could trust, divulged something about her or Shawn.

I thought it sounded like a bs statement that was prolly suggested in a conversation with her attorney to project as part of her victim image. I have a hard time believing BD could be naive about anything, but she is lacking in emotional stability, so someone she perceived as being trustworthy could have caused doubts or a little paranoria on her part.

ie: for instance; SA not following through with the plan of going to work and then letting slip the info of who should be looked at, the drug purchase from the ATM withdrawal, etc. He was just one upping her to prove he could gain control again, imo. I think there are many dynamics to their relationship being played out.

imo
