NCnative you are amazing.
I'm sure her friends will lie low and I don't blame them....kinda hope they do make it to JJ though even if it's anonymously.
As far as who is going to step up and give an interview......I really, really hope that all you WS's would step up even if it's only a few words.....any publicity for this case is better than no publicity and ya'll are pretty knowledgeable about the case.......even though there isn't any new info![]()
I don't know that all of us stepping up WOULD be better than no publicity... but one person who is knowledgable, well-spoken, and comfortable in front of the camera certainly would be wonderful!
Yes, Reddress. The more I think about it, the more I think that Nancy's friends have probably had enough publicity, have been told to stay out of the media, etc. You Websleuths will come up with someone (of you all) who is well-spoken. Topsail Girl has already said that she's going to be there and Amanda Lamb is going to be speaking to her anyway. TG said she would do it, and has done it before. TG is the one who has "connections" with the TV media anyway.
I don't know about newspaper folks.
Anyway, the main thing is, JJ was so good about hosting the searchers when Nancy was "missing", there was talk of my putting a wreath outside Brad's back area, in the median, but then we thought that would not be good, due to vandals,etc....which led to this Birthday Memorial at the JJ, because Nancy loved the place, it even has a smoothie named after little Bella. The JJ is between Nancy's home and the children's preschool, and across from the lake with the jogging path. The JJ is a place that brings the community together for good cause, for friendship and good coffee. Nancy's spirit filled the JJ when she was alive, and we Websleuths, friends and neighbors are here to keep her spirit alive for her birthday memorial celebration, lest no one forget that her killer has not been arrested.
It seems that after a very tragic and public thing like Nancy's murder, things quiet down for a while. Since her death there has been Katie's birthday and now Nancy's. We can all raise a little positive energy for Nancy and celebrate her birthday on Monday. We plan to share it with her family, through sending them the guest book and children's drawings.
How does that sound for ideas of what to say? You can probably do better than I did. I'm tired.
You've done your part and you've been wonderful! Don't second guess any decisions you've made. Going to JJ's was the PERFECT alternative to putting the wreath closer to NC's home. We all will take over from here. Sleep tight! (pm me if you need any help tomorrow)Yes, Reddress. Anyone who wants to be there at 4 PM to speak to the TV folks? I know one that's going to do it if no one else does. How about others? Several are more interesting. :bang:Sleuthy? I tried to contact DDuncan, but don't really have a clue how to contact Nancy's friends. I did not know Nancy. Remember, I'm just the JJ "decorator" who runs from cameras!
Mom! Please encourage her to participate! We will stand by any requests she makes as far as questions concerning the case. Remind her that this is about Nancy and a celebration of her life. Maybe JA can suggest a spokesperson among NC's group of friends if she is not comfortable (or legally able) to speak.NCN...I just got on to read about the memorial. These last 2 days I have been straight out.
I will be home all day tomorrow and can get in touch with you for anything you might need help with. Just pm me and let me know.
Pictures? Did you get any?
I spoke to JA today and mentioned the memorial at JJ. I didn't go into detail with her since I didn't have the exact details when I spoke to her.
MOM! That's great news that you got in touch w/JA! Hopefully the word will get around their circle.
....however, to qualify, I still think it is more impressionable to have a WS representative do the media interview. We (more specifially NCN) initiated this; and it's really all about a community supporting one of their own. I still vote we invite NC's friends but not pressure them to speak. But if they feel compelled, all the better!!Mom! Please encourage her to participate! We will stand by any requests she makes as far as questions concerning the case. You are so brave...and compassionate. Thank you for sticking your neck out and calling her.I promise, I will call her tomorrow, that's the most I can do.
This is the reason on the other thread I asked for a synopsis so I know what to tell her.
Also, this is going to be a very rough time for her and all of NC friends. I do not know if they are going to want to be present if media is there, especially since the affidavits have been made public.
Please understand she was apprehensive when I called, but I told her who I was and where I lived and allowed my number to show up on caller ID.
I will try is all I can do, with respect to her feelings, and not make her uncomfortable at all. That is the last thing I want to do.

I second this about both these posters! Amen! (and goodnight)Ya'll are such a great group of people. I hope I will finally get to participate in a "meet-up" soon. Thanks to NC native for making the wreath and putting all of the other plans together. MT3K.. I really admire your spunk.
There is a scum bag out there who is still able to eat, sleep and enjoy daily life, but took that away from Nancy....You are so brave...and compassionate. Thank you for sticking your neck out and calling her.
