The Java lady, Sherry, wants me to take down the decorations. She will call me. Leave anything that you want me to send the Listers and Krista with the Java Jive owner. Thanks.

MT3K I posted a birthday wish for Nancy & Krista, I don't know if Tops got it or not.

Also, I found this on MSNBC...

http://wake.mync.com/site/wake/news|Community/story/7681/friends-remember-nancy-coopers-birthday

Link isn't working for me...

Hey, tell the reporter to go over to BC's and videotape a shot of the house with NO BOW in remembrance of NC... they could play it like, "Although the home of Nancy Cooper has no visible outward signs of rememberance on this day, just over one month since her murder, virtual strangers are coming together at Java Jive with a birthday celebration in the form of balloons, decorations, and a guest book to sign... all to be sent on to her family in Canada."

You all have done a wonderful job with this memorial. What's even more important is the media and LE is paying attention.

Um, who is Beth Goldstein "Event Organizer", as she is called on the WRAL broadcast on the 5 PM news at Java Jive?

Somebody pinch me. Am I just imagining that I spent two whole days from start to finish, birthing this Birthday Memorial Celebration for Nancy at Java Jive, making the wreath, searching for and decorating the Java Jive, getting everything, such as the drawing books, guest book, balloons, and everything else? And yet, there's an Event Organizer named Beth Goldstein there?

I guess I just imagined doing this. What a shocker.

OK. Just spoke to Amanda Lamb. I asked her how that happened. It was their error. WRAL called her the Event Organizer because I "wasn't there", so someone else spoke. OK. That's OK. Not Natalie's fault. Natalie not Beth, if I'm right. Sigh.

WE KNOW WHO REALLY DID THE WORK NCNATIVE! And you did a great job! Look at the comment from the Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison:

"Sometimes, we hear things when we attend these things," he said. "We hear things we haven't heard before. And by the neighbors and communities staying focused, keeping us on our toes, it helps a lot."

Natalie Goldstein was mentioned as the organizer in the article that I read. :waitasec: I thought it must be the manager from Java Jive. Perhaps a reporter will research this forum and get more information. Should we have sent a press release?

Everyone there made it VERY clear to all the reporters and people on the scene that ONE person (who wasn't at JJ and wanted to maintain their privacy) took it upon herself to pull the whole thing together, do the decorations, buy the supplies, etc, etc. and that other folks were there to support this effort and 'help celebrate NC's Bday as members of the community." It was repeated several times -- at least once to each reporter face-to-face so they would know how this memorial came to be and I heard it mentioned to others too. Even the history of how it started as this person's idea for a wreath to be placed somewhere in NC's neighborhood or near her home and blossomed into a display at JJ was talked about. The name "NCNative" was given out, as that was the only name people knew in order to reference this individual.

Any attribution given in news reports is purely a result of reporter/editing errors and not the result of anyone trying to mislead any media outlet or reporter or take credit away from NCNative.

NCnative, I really wish you had been there to get your accolades in person.

Natalie might be one of us, speaking for Websleuths. She said exactly what we all would have said---Nancy can't speak so we are speaking for her.

NC Native, Sleuthy, Mom, & everybody who participated----THANKS so much for taking all of this time & energy to care for Nancy, & to honor & show love to her family in Canada from us down here. It all looks so beautiful!!

NCN...I was there when Amanda Lamb spoke about the tribute to NC. Natalie never took any credit for any of the event...just that with 3 news stations wanting to speak to people Natalie was willing to speak. Later again she told Amanda and she was very specific in stating she could take NO credit for the arranging of JJ, but the person who did it was very private and wished not to be named.

I remember saying if I knew what you looked like I would look around at the cars to see if someone was sitting in one. Nothing was done by Natalie to diminsh what you had done so beautifully and taken your time on.

Yup, NCnative, I was there, I heard, and perhaps the reporter misspoke: she should have said "event spokesperson". It was a wonderful display, you did a superb job, media, LE, journalists, friends of NC, and fellow WS'ers all said so. Thank you so much for making this possible.

(PS: in fact, it was mentioned several times about putting the wreath where it was going to go at first, and how it got changed).

Thank you NCnative, for all that you have done. :blowkiss:

Everyone did an outstanding job. Thank you NCN for the beautiful display, and thank you Topsail for spearheading all the various media folks! It was a lovely gesture for Nancy.
