Losartan has been recalled for a while. It is that they have been recalling different batches at a time.

My DH was recalled first and my Dr took me off of mine back in March.

Now it seems the alternate medicine they are putting us on is having a shortage because of the demand. So many people were taking Losartan for high blood pressure.

DH and myself had been taking it for years. The way I understand the recall it is a very slim chance you will develop cancer from taking it. At least I hope that is correct. moo

I didn't recall that I had started an earlier thread about the Losartan recall

FDA warns about blood pressure medication shortages amid recalls

I was on Losartan for a short period of time because it caused an annoying ticklish cough. Have been on Candesartan for a couple of years without issues.
I had that problem with Lisinopril and was switched to Losartan. I am now on Benicar. I think my DH is on the Candesartan.

My pharmarist is having trouble with keeping those two meds in now. We use a small town pharmacy. I think the manufacturers are having to compensate with more need for their meds since the Losartan recall.

I had the cough with Lisinopril, as well. The ticklish cough is, unfortunately, an annoying side effect of many BP meds.
