BLUE VAN:Investigation**REVISITED**

IIRC, JO was staying with Tommy and Lindsey who lives by Ron and Misty. The van belongs to Lindsey and Chelsea was using it. Which is what we all thought from the beginning, but it appears the reporter botched all the details.

Are we certain of this? The reporter did more than botch the details, he/she mutilated them. I have googled this information and read many articles about this and none mention Lindsey, just seems odd!

I take it as Lindsey owns the van

Chelsea was using the van and had it the night Haleigh was taken

JO was staying with Chelsea if Chelsea believes JO could have used the van otherwise he would not have had access to the van that night

Chelsea may live in Palatka (per her myspace), Daytona, or Cresent City nobody seems really clear on that

Whoever owns the van, I want to know what Misty's blanket was doing in it, how it got there and when, and why the van was impounded.

ITA 100% with this. I saw the splice in the video too. I get exactly what youre saying.

We should make this a sticky at the top of every page...

And for Goodness sakes, call that reporter and have him correct this.

I did - yesterday. And no retraction, no nothing. :bang:

Ok, that helps. Lets just say hypothetically that Chelsea does not live in close proximity to Ron and Misty. Then wouldn't gas mileage have been affected if JO took the van, drove it all the way from Chelsey's to Misty's and Ron's, took Haleigh, and then had to drive the van all the way back to Chealsy's. Seems like this would be an easy thing for LE to figure out based on the last time gas was purchased and how many times it was driven since the last fill up.

Wow, we really need clarification on where Chelsea lives.

How would LE know what the mileage was, or when the last time was that gas was purchased?? Unless that information is written down in a log somewhere, I don't see how it could possibly be determined.

Hi, nursebeeme!

If this had been Misty's van to begin with then she probably did keep one of the van keys! I agree with you on that!

I would love to know whose prints were on the steering wheel and gear shift of that van! Unless it was wiped clean, then prints of the last driver would be there! If it was wiped clean, that is a red flag.

BUT, I do not buy that Misty's sister and her husband would not hear the van being started and driven away. I just don't. They lived in the dang country where it is quiet!

But, it seems that people in that neighborhood have a problem with their hearing. It reminds me of the three monkeys: who see no evil, hear no evil and say no evil.:waitasec:

I want to know the same thing, Debs. The questions seem simple enough but its been a month and still no answers, not even to the simple ones. It isn't clear on where certain people reside, who they are kin to, were they at the mobile home that night or not? WTH, can anyone give a straight answer in that neighborhood?????

I wouldnt imagine that LE would have released the van had they found any evidence of foul play in it. As far as the blanket goes, if it is true that Misty was gone the few days prior to Haleigh being taken, then her blanket could have been put in that van on any one of those days. Her and Ron could have had a fight, she called her sister-in-law to come get her, Misty tosses some things in the van including her blanket and leaves. Her and Ron make up and she goes back to the mh but her blanket is still in the van. JMO

Maybe the blanket was placed in the van in the morning, when the police where already there. Misty called the SIL and she got in the van and went over there, maybe they put Jr. in the van with the blanket as the police were searching the house etc...

Whoever last purchased gas should know the answer to this question. It's LE's job to question anyone involved. Someone would have purchased gas weather it was Chelsea, her husband Timmy, or whoever. There is normally a transaction to record this weather it's a credit card statement, a debit receipt. If gas was last paid for with cash, it may be more difficult. All of this depends on where Chelsea lives, and how many miles separate her house from Ron and Misty's. Example..if I was woken at 4 AM and noticed the van was parked in a different place, the first thing I would look at is how much gas is left in the tank to try and determine if someone drove it and if so how far.

Generally speaking, I know how much gas I have in my car and I usually notice if it's low of getting low. JMO

Misty has indicated in interviews, (see Artharris.com) that she was washing their blankets, Haleighs and hers. She put Haleigh's blanket over her and then made her bed and went to bed.

Misty has stated that "her blanket" was in the van they took. She did not say she washed HER blanket....she explained why she could not wash HER blanket. :)

Misty said that she took the blanket off of the window to use because hers was in the van that they took. She said she washed the window blanket and Haleighs blanket.

As of now, don't we ONLY know that Chelsea SAID that the van was not where she parked it? If someone actually took it, wouldn't they aim to put it back around where they found it? And if you wake up at 4am with your sister in law calling and saying her boyfriend's daughter is missing, would you really notice your car moved a little? Or wouldn't you just run outside and jump in the car to run over to the house?

IMO the "it moved while I was sleeping" seems like a red herring to me- maybe an innocent one. If there were drugs or an unregistered gun in the car, the owner might want to leave the door open to say "its not mine!" once the police are involved - and saying the car was moved opens that door to someone else did it

Who was they?Who took the van? When?

Thanks for reminding me. Now I remember the blanket from the window because hers was already gone in the van.

The information I found reveals that Chelsea lives in Daytona (not saying this is completely accurate, but it's what I found). If this is the case, Daytona is roughly 55 miles from Satsuma (108 minute commute). Providing all of this information is correct, someone would have driven 55 miles each way to take the van from Daytona, kidnap Haleigh, and return the van to Daytona in a different parking spot. That's over two hours of travelling, unless the abductor put gas in the van themselves, that's alot of gas and mileage used that wouldn't be accounted for. In my car which gets good gas mileage, I would be miunus 1/2 tank if I drove around for 2 hours.

On the other hand, I did research on Palatka and it is only 12 miles from Satsuma.

Crescent City is roughly 13 miles from Satsuma.

It would be great if we could get a definitive answer on where Chelsea/Timmy live. this could potentially narrow down a credible search area when looking for Haleigh.

Misty said the children’s great-grandmother, her brother and an air-conditioning repairman were the only ones to visit the mobile home that day. Haleigh went to bed about 8:15 p.m.

(Timmy is Chelea's husband maybe he came over in the van that night? Still need to find out where her cousin was. She said he was in Cresent City.)

Croslin also told the Times-Union that the day Haleigh disappeared, she told authorities a cousin who had been staying in Crescent City for about a month went back to Tennessee. She said the cousin had “messed with” her sexually when she was a child but not been deemed a sexual offender.

The cousin had visited the mobile home she shared with Cummings but was told not to come back when a gun in the house turned up missing around the same time, she said. http://www.jacksonville.com/news/met...es_back?page=1

I respectfully have to disagree. For one thing, the van was scratched, I believe the front head light was cracked as well. If someone commits a crime and they damaged the vehicle, and they are in a rush, and do not want to wake anyone up, you would think they would put the van back in a place that was further removed from the home. All of this depends of where exactly the van was parked. I never heard that the van was moved "a little" as stated above. If it was moved significantly from where it was initially parked, I think anyone who owns a vehicle would notice that.

Thank you.Who all lived in and around crescent city? Her cousin lived in crescent city?for a month?who did he stay with?who did he know that could have possibly hurt haleigh? What do you know about him?Is this why they checked the high way to crescent city?
